Daily Racing Tips – Thursday 8th October

Check out our Thursday Racing Tips for October 8th below, featuring Hawkesbury best bets and Kyneton tips!

Hawkesbury: Race 3
No. 5 Van Hoven

VAN HOVEN (3) is ready to win today at Hawkesbury.

The Snitzel gelding finished on the placegetters’ heels on debut at Goulburn, beaten just over a length, while he has since finished the runner up in a pair of maidens at Kembla Grange.

He looks to be at peak fitness now and from a nice low draw, this looks his opportunity to strike.

Hawkesbury R3 – Group 1 Thoroughbreds Mdn Plate
Open Race time:
5. Van Hoven (3)
J: Adam Hyeronimus 59kg
422 T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott
Form hard to fault. Most recently gave a sight but was run down late 2nd of 9 in a Super Mdn-Sw at Kembla Grange on September 26 over 1600m, long-neck behind Nomadic with 59kg at $4.60. The race before that tracked the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 10 in a Mdn-Sw at Kembla Grange on September 12 over 1600m, 1.0 len behind Legaselli carrying 59kg at $3.50. Has good early speed and will take some running down fourth up.

Kyneton: Race 5
No. 11 Caddington

CADDINGTON (4) returns to action in a winnable race today at Kyneton.

The Liam Howley-trained filly made just one appearance at the races during her debut prep, finishing off well for fourth over 1000m at Sandown.

Her recent trials suggest she’s returning a better horse this time, and this looks an ideal campaign launchpad for her.

Hawkesbury: Race 6
No. 4 Youre Not The King

YOURE NOT THE KING (5) returns to action in a nice race at Hawkesbury today.

The former Queenslander won at this point of his last preparation before only just missing in a stronger Saturday metro race at Eagle Farm.

Having trialled up well, he can hit the ground running today under Rachel King.

Kyneton: Race 7
No. 1 Galant Knight

GALANT KNIGHT (3) rates as a key winning chance at Kyneton.

The Almanzor gelding hasn’t been seen at the races since May, but after winning on debut at Werribee, he was sent for a spell after finishing down the order at Pakenham.

With the benefit of a couple of trials under his belt, we know he goes well fresh and he’s drawn ideally with the benefit of Nadia Daniels’ claim.
