The King Charles III Stakes is a Group 1 race at Randwick on Saturday, and it’s going to be a stellar race between the six runners.
King Charles III Stakes odds have Autumn Glow at skinny odds to win, as she looks to keep her winning run this season alive.
King Charles III Stakes Final Field & Barrier Draw

| 1. Ceolwulf (1) 59kgx5232 | |||
| 3. Just Folk (3) 59kg32322 | |||
| 2. God’s Window (2) 59kg23×51 | |||
| 4. Militarize (5) 59kg3×606 | |||
| 6. Pride Of Jenni (5)SCRATCHED: | |||
There are only six runners in the field, so barrier draws don’t come into play.
Pride of Jenni will go forward from barrier 5, and Autumn Glow could be the one chasing her into the straight, which should make for interesting viewing.
He is a big danger to Autumn Glow, and he has been well-backed to beat the favourite on the second line.
He will likely settle further back than the favourite, but he won’t need a drag into the race, and he could slingshot them late in the straight at Randwick.
We expect him to run well in the small field.
| 1. Ceolwulf (1) 59kgx5232 |
His performance to win the Epsom Handicap last start was excellent, but it came with 50kg on his back, and he has been punished in the weights at 59kg.
The Chris Waller-trained runner might have had a chance with a light weight, but with 59kg, his chances of causing an upset are all but gone.
We can’t see him finishing in the first three home, and if he does, he has exceeded our expectations in a big way.
| 2. God’s Window (2) 59kg23×51 |
It’s never easy to overlook a consistent runner, but most of his form has come in levels below what he faces on Saturday, and we can’t see him adding another placing to his record.
The $61 odds are what we expected with King Charles III Stakes odds, and we have no interest in backing him at that price.
| 3. Just Folk (3) 59kg32322 |
He took punters’ money again last week, but the run was better than it looks on paper, and he could run a big race on Saturday.
It has been a long time between drinks for the Waller-trained gelding, but we thought he didn’t get all favours in the run to the line last week, and being on the quick back-up is a good sign from this stable.
His confidence levels must be low now, but he’s a first-four chance against this field.
| 4. Militarize (5) 59kg3×606 |
The star of the show, and she is back to her best this season. Her two wins this preparation have been outstanding, and she was simply too good for a similar field last start, including holding off Ceolwulf.
It’s not easy to take her at $1.45, and upsets can happen in small fields. We saw what happened to Sheza Alibi last start, but Autumn Glow is a different animal, and we can’t see her being beaten.
The odds are good to include in multi bets, and there will be many multis running through her on Saturday.
| 5. Autumn Glow (4) 57kg13×11 |
It wouldn’t be an exciting race without Pride of Jenni, who has a knack of scoring outstanding wins at Randwick.
She could make it very tough for Autumn Glow if she gets out to a big lead. She’ll force James McDonald and Autumn Glow to bring the field up, and Jenni could have pinched a winning break.
She’s in fine form this season, scoring an all-the-way win last start, and $6.50 to make it back-to-back wins is a solid shout.
