KARREN (5) was a dominant winner at Bendigo last start after finishing second at Geelong first-up, where the slow tempo worked against her.
Her impressive debut win in her first preparation has produced outstanding form, with runner-up Sass Appeal later winning multiple black-type races, including the Group 2 Kewney.
Lloyd Kennewell has scratched her from a winnable race at Geelong on Wednesday in preference for this assignment.
She maps to enjoy a nice run and can make it back-to-back wins.

| Third-up today. Resuming raced on speed throughout when 2nd of 9 in a Bm66 at Geelong on September 11 over 1100m, long-neck behind It’s A Yes with 57kg at $1.90. Second run from a spell favourite; tracked the speed and boxed on steadily; won by 2 len in a Cl1 at Bendigo on October 4 over 1300m in soft going defeating Shapenapit carrying 58kg at $1.45. Racing well. Plenty of upside and will be very hard to run down. | |||
CASHOUT (7) finished second two starts ago in a 1500m BM70 at Sandown Hillside, where he had every chance but found one better.
He stepped back to 1400m at Pakenham Synthetic last start, took over after racing prominently and drew clear late to win by three lengths.
The Price & Kent Jnr-trained gelding is rising through the grades nicely, and booked Blake Shinn for this assignment.
Drawn well and likely to race on speed, he can settle in a favourable position and continue his progression with another strong performance.
BOSSY BENITA (4) produced an excellent effort last start in the Group 3 Northwood Plume Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield, finishing fourth behind Point Barrow.
Caught deep throughout, the Michael Mehegan-trained mare’s run was full of merit, and she should appreciate the drop in class.
She has a very good third-up record and looks suited by the rise to 1400m.
Expected to be prominent in the run, she can put herself in a strong position to make the most of the more suitable distance.
ESMAHLI (1) finished second in a BM78 over 1200m at Flemington last start, making ground after getting clear at the 400m but unable to match the impressive Hankee Alpha.
Two starts ago when resuming, he also ran second in a BM78, this time over 1000m at Caulfield Heath.
The Team Hayes-trained gelding should appreciate the drop in class and has won his only previous third-up start, at Mornington.
From barrier three with Nadia Daniels’ 3kg claim, he gets an ideal setup to return to winning form.
