Water City is second up and open to improvement today at Hawkesbury.
The Chris Waller-trained filly has only made one appearance at the races so far but worked home well to finish third, beaten a length and a half here.
With improvement expected from that experience, she can begin her journey through the grades today.

| At debut, 3rd of 8 in a Super Mdn at this track on October 8 over 1000m, 1.5 len behind Revolina with 55kg at $17. Better for that outing and looks one of the main contenders. | |||
Markos Port strikes a winnable race today at Hawkesbury.
While yet to win in three appearances since debuting, Markos Point has been competitive to place at all three starts.
He steps out this week a fit horse and might not get a better opportunity to break his maiden.

| Racing well recently. Most recently 3rd of 9 in a Super Mdn at Warwick Farm on October 5 over 1600m, on a slow track; 0.8 len behind True Tone carrying 59kg at $9. Before that gave a sight but was run down late 2nd in a small field in a Mdn-Sw at Goulburn on September 24 over 1400m, on a slow track; long-neck behind Stratford with 59kg at $2.40. Shapes as one of the key chances. | |||
This looks a far better target for Chappy.
Chappy was a strong and consistent performer throughout his last preparation in New Zealand, but his first run when arriving in Australia left a little to the imagination, with him finishing down the order in BM72 company at Rosehill a fortnight ago.
With natural improvement for that hit-out, this is a noticeably weaker race and he can bounce back.

| Second-up. First-up after three months ran last of 12 in a Bm72 at Rosehill on October 14 over 1400m, slow going 12 len behind Unhinged with 56kg at $6. Previously second-up 2nd of 12 in a 2&3yo Mdn-Sw at Te Aroha on June 1 over 1400m, on a slow track; head behind Brewster with 57.5kg at $4.10. Happy to give him another chance. | |||
Mayleigh looks well placed to get up today at Hawkesbury.
Mayleigh broke her maiden with a fine performance over 1400m at Kembla Grange two back and was far from disgraced when only just denied up in grade for the first time at her latest.
In peak condition this afternoon, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.

| At the latest run 2nd in a small field in a Cl1 at Kembla Grange on October 10 over 1600m, 0.5 len behind Cap D’ail carrying 56.5kg at $4.60. The race before that won by 0.5 len in a F&M Mdn at Kembla Grange on September 26 over 1400m defeating Vision In A Dream carrying 57.5kg at $4.80. Will enjoy a gun run for gate one and can return to winning ways. | |||
