On the second line of betting are defending champions Sydney Kings. They’re looking for rare consecutive titles, and they have a team good enough to make another historic run this season.
Rounding out the top 4 are Adelaide and Tasmania. They have been building to something good over the last couple of years, and although injuries and suspensions haven’t helped, they look ready to perform this season.
The JackJumpers have been building to something great over the last few years, including their win in 2024 over Melbourne United, and they could get back to their NBL Championship-winning ways.
They ended last season with a 13-16 record after starting 3-8. However, they had to deal with a lot of injuries, and the team never had a chance to settle. However, the bench players did well to keep their heads above water.
Players like Will Magnay, Bryce Hamilton, and Majok Deng could take the JackJumpers to their second NBL Championship win in the last four years, and the $6 with NBL Championship odds are juicy.
It’s tough to get the defending champions at $5 for any league around the world, so the $5 for the Kings is too good to turn down.
They played their mental toughness last season, and although there has been drama with captain Xavier Cooks, that shouldn’t affect their play this season.
They also re-signed American Kendric Davis on a two-year deal. He’s an explosive player who won Club MVP last year, and he went close to beating Bryce Cotton for the overall MVP title.
They have enough experience to win, and their NBL Championship odds of $5 probably won’t last too much longer.
There is always a chance of the New Zealand Breakers scoring an upset win, and the $19 odds are a good price.
They are one of the winningest teams in the NBL, with multiple titles, and although their form over the last couple of years hasn’t been flash, they haven’t had much go their way either, so we’re happy to ignore it.
With many New Zealand representatives in the team, they have a good dynamic. They don’t recruit American players as well as other teams, but the strength in the Breakers is their ability to play team basketball, and that could be enough to see them raise another banner in Spark Arena in Auckland.
