The Queen Elizabeth Stakes is the richest race of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival and offers $5 million in total prize money.

The prizemoney for the 2020 Queen Elizabeth Stakes was reduced to $2 million with cuts made across the carnival due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including $1.16 million reserved for the winner, before being elevated back to $4 million for 2021 and subsequently increased to $5 million for the 2023 edition.

Autumn Glow was sent out a dominant $1.30 favourite in 2026 as she looked to extend her unbeaten streak to 12, but the superstar mare had to settle for third, upstaged by the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott‑trained Sir Delius ($6) who proved strongest over the 2000m.
