Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday 16th January

Gunnedah - Race 2 1.50pm AEDT

No. 1 Landuar

We start the day with what should be an interesting 900 metre sprint at Gunnedah and Landaur does appeal at the current price. He is a horse that has an excellent record in these short-course sprint races and he always goes well first-up. He should be able to find the front and give his rivals something to catch.

Ballarat - Race 3 2:30pm AEDT

No. 11 Weapon

Weapon has only had the two race starts and he is yet to record a race win, but he clearly has a great deal of ability. On exposed form, he really should have too much speed for his rivals in this contest. Regan Bayliss will take him straight to the front in the early stages and they will struggle to run over the top of him.

Ballarat - Race 7 4:30pm AEDT

No. 4 Swiss Beauty

Swiss Beauty is coming off a strong win at Mornington last start and there is no way that she should be as long as her current price of $10 suggests. It has taken her a while to reach peak fitness this campaign, but she is now there and with even luck in running she will be in the finish. A super each-way bet.

Ballarat - Race 8 5.00pm AEDT

No. 11 Desidero

Desidero was only narrowly denied at Yarra Valley last start and before that he beat a field that have had horses come out and run well in the city. He makes his own luck right on the speed and he has the benefit of Damien Oliver in the saddle. Oliver would not be sticking around at Ballarat for a slow one.
