The full George Moore Stakes 2025 Results & Finishing Order will be provided below once the race is run and won on Saturday December 6, 2025.
- 1st: No. 1 Caballus

- 3rd: No. 12 Cosmic Fire
Caballus ($5.50) stamped himself as a rising sprint star with a brilliant victory in the 2025 Group 3 George Moore Stakes results at Doomben in Brisbane on Saturday. Trained by Bjorn Baker and ridden by Tommy Berry, the five-year-old son of I Am Invincible relished a drop in grade after his lead-up eight to Giga Kick in Flemington’s Group 1 Champions Sprint and proved too strong despite carrying the equal 60kg topweight. After exploding from his wide barrier nine draw, he cruised across to take up the lead without pressure, and from there was never headed, powering clear to score a commanding three-length victory over Pereille.

To Win: No. 2 Hidden Wealth
Plenty of chances line up in this year’s George Moore, but the one I’m keen to be with is Tony Gollan’s defending champ HIDDEN WEALTH (1), who comes up with the plum draw in barrier one.
History shows only three horses have won the race multiple times, and none have gone back‑to‑back since Mirraben’s famous treble in the late ’80s – but HIDDEN WEALTH looks well placed to change that. He’s already a proven performer at Doomben with two wins from three starts at the track, and his overall 1200m record reads strongly at 10:4‑1‑0.
The six‑year‑old son of Better Than Ready returned with a sharp first‑up win over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast on November 22, and natural improvement suggests he’ll be even better second‑up stepping back to his pet trip.
He was a Group 2 runner‑up last prep, so the class is there, and while he does rise to 60kg as equal top‑weight, that’s the only knock. With Angela Jones sticking in the saddle and riding in terrific touch, punters can expect him to take full advantage of the inside alley, roll forward, and prove very hard to run down.
For mine, HIDDEN WEALTH shapes as the horse to beat and a genuine chance to etch his name into George Moore history.

The George Moore Stakes is a Group 3 sprint for summer gallopers run and won at Brisbane’s Doomben Racecourse in early December.

A key feature of the Brisbane Summer Racing Carnival the 1200m showdown is a quality handicap race offering $200,000 in total prize money.
The George Moore in Queensland runs on the same date as Ascot’s Group 1 $1.5 million Northerly Stakes (1800m) in Perth.
