Horses aged between four and seven years old dominate the Grafton Cup form and results over the past decade with the last three-year-old winner being Stormhill (2005).
The Grafton Cup form has held-up in tougher races and is worth following into the bigger spring races in Sydney and Melbourne later in the year.
The 2022 Grafton Cup winner Arapaho franked the form with a host of good subsequent Group race performances including his 2023 Group 1 Tancred Stakes (2400m) win at Rosehill the following autumn.

John O’Shea’s Reliable Man four-year-old was eye-catching posting a six-length win at Wyong with 59kg last time out. Steps up in grade here and is down to 55kg to help him in the Grafton Cup. Fourth go at the distance, yet to win but has been placed before and went well enough over 2100m last time out to suggest the mile and a half will be a non-issue. Group 1 placed previously and looks to be peaking.
