The Karrakatta Plate is a Group 2 race for two-year-olds run at Ascot Racecourse in Perth during the WA Autumn Racing Carnival on a Saturday in early or mid April each year around the same time Sydney’s hosts ‘The Championships’ at Randwick.
Contested over 1200m the juveniles’ sprint feature offers a juicy $500,000 in prize money and is the other major race alongside the Group 3 WA Oaks (2400m) for the three-year-old fillies at the meeting.
