  • To Win: #10 Amelia’s Jewel ($1.70 at time of publish)

Very hard to tip against the undefeated, odds-on favourite here even from her outside draw (17). Simon Miller’s filly has been outstanding in her opening two runs this prep and is still improving. Dominated on debut over 1000m here on March 5 before an equally impressive 2.47 length win in the Group 3 Gimcrack. That’s been the form to follow into the Karrakatta many times and she did it from out wide that day. Extra distance a non-issue and ticks too many boxes to sack.

Karrakatta Plate Form Guide

The Karrakatta Plate form guide features all the must know facts including saddlecloth numbers, barriers, jockeys, trainers and the lead-up form of the horses in the field. Looking at the form for the race, two-year-olds that ran well in the earlier Gimcrack Stakes over 100m less distance at the same track two weeks prior is key.

Wide Karrakatta Plate barriers have produced a number of recent winners including Amelia’s Jewel (15 of 16 in 2022), so it is more a case of looking for class and consistency over gate draws when doing the form on the Group 2 feature.
