Ladbrokes Tip: Sandown Guineas winners often come off a Carbine Club Stakes run on Derby Day
The Sandown Guineas is a Group 2 feature race traditionally held at Sandown’s Ladbrokes Park in mid-November at the tail end of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.
In 2021 the Sandown Guineas and entire Zipping Classic Day card was moved to late November and took place at Caulfield Racecourse.

Sandown Guineas Day is headlined by two Group 2 races including the Zipping Classic (2400m) for stayers. Also on the card are the Group 3 Kevin Heffernan Stakes (1300m), Group 3 Eclipse Stakes (1800m), Group 3 Summoned Stakes (1500m) and for the two milers the Listed Sandown Cup (3200m) is another feature.
Run over a mile (1600m), the race offers $300,000 in total prize money to the three-year-olds in the field that face off under set weights and is usually the final spring run of the campaign for its contestants.
The latst edition of the Sandown Guineas runs on Saturday November 27, 2021 at Caulfield Racecourse and was won in an upset by Blue Army ($18).
