Ladbrokes Stocks Stakes Tips
Good WH Stocks Stakes betting tips to take in the spring include looking at mares with ability at the track and distance, previous Group winners, past winners over the mile distance and those coming off lead-up runs in the Let’s Elope Stakes.
Single figure hopefuls have a dominant recent record in the race so another useful tip is to pick a runner in the top half of the markets. Any mares coming down in class off an earlier Group 1 spring race also make for a nice Stocks Stakes winning tip.
2025 Ladbrokes Stocks Stakes Tips
Our Ladbrokes’ insider WH Stocks Stakes tips and Moonee Valley Group 2 betting selections will be detailed below the week of the race so bookmark this page for the mares to get behind in the race this spring.
To Win: No. 5 Abounding
ABOUNDING (6) looks the standout in a wide-open Stocks Stakes to close out Manikato Stakes Night, with the classy Rich Enuff mare primed to break through over a trip beyond 1400m for the first time. Making her Moonee Valley debut, Rob Heathcote’s Queenslander hasn’t won since last November but has signalled a return to form with a strong winter campaign, including a Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara second. She’s resumed in fine order with consecutive Group placings in Melbourne—just a length off Magic Time and then a narrow defeat to Lazzura in the Let’s Elope. In well under SW+P conditions, drawn ideally in gate six, and with Blake Shinn sticking, she’s ready to strike.

Racing at the meeting is headlined by the Group 1 Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200m) for sprinters. Other key races on the card including the Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) for the Cox Plate hopefuls, Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m) for Caulfield Guineas types, and the Group 3 Scarborough Stakes for potential Coolmore Stud Stakes-bound fillies.
