Melbourne United have slipped to second overall following an inconsistent run of results but are offered a great opportunity to return to winning form at home to the Kings on Wednesday night, but the round is undoubtedly highlighted by Sunday’s game between the Breakers and Hawks in New Zealand.

Melbourne United vs Sydney Kings
The last team to taste defeat this season, Melbourne United have fallen into something of a rough trot of form through recent weeks and received a huge reality check when delivered a demoralising 30 point defeat by Perth in a top of the table clash last week. Sydney have undoubtedly been the league’s big disappointments this season and remain outright last with a losing 3-12 record. Realistically and even in current form, Melbourne will not lose this game at home.

Cairns Taipans vs Perth Wildcats
Perth stamped themselves as the NBL’s benchmark with their thrashing of Melbourne in Round 10 but face a task in the Cairns Taipans away from home on Thursday, who have produced a number of competitive performances against notably opposition between disappointing results. Perth continued their slick run past the Kings in their second match last week while the Taipans produced a great performance to see off the in-form Illawarra Hawks 103-101 on Friday night. It is simply too hard to look past the Wildcats in current form and they offer great value to win at $1.50 odds.
Illawarra Hawks vs Sydney Kings
The Kings will be in action for the second time in three days when they face local rivals the Hawks in Illawarra on Friday night. The Hawks have continued to gain momentum through recent weeks and sit fourth overall with an 8-7 record, but were unable to repeat the dose over the Taipans last weekend when losing the return leg of their 97-82 win last Wednesday on Friday. It is too hard to tip the Kings in current form and the Hawks should be considered as a fold in any NBL multi bet this week.
Townsville Crocodiles vs Perth Wildcats
Saturday’s sole NBL fixture will see the Townsville Crocodiles host the league leading Wildcats in North Queensland. The Crocs have been unable to post much of a consistent run of form and enter Week 11 second last overall with a 6-12 record; well and truly off the pace set by the Perth franchise. Townsville are another team that are capable of a big result on their day, but the way the Wildcats have been dispatching their rivals means the simply cannot be tipped against in current form.
New Zealand Breakers vs Illawarra Hawks
In what has every likelihood of figuring as the most well-contested game in Week 11 of the NBL, the ever-dangerous Breakers host the Hawks across the ditch on Sunday afternoon. The Breakers have again flown under the radar this campaign but are within only two wins of top spot and a serious finals contender once more. The Hawks are sure to take plenty of benefit from their match with the Kings on Friday night and the result of that fixture may have some bearing on what plays out in New Zealand. We’re confident the Breakers will sneak home in an absolute thriller.
