Daily Racing Tips – Thursday 6th August

Read on for our Daily Racing Tips on Thursday August 6th, including Gosford best bets.

Gosford: Race 1
No. 1 Autafinna

This looks a decent maiden with several lightly raced runners holding plenty of upside, making exposed form a little harder to rely on.

AUTAFINNA has the advantage of a perfect first-up profile after placing in both career starts, Honeyhill has shown improvement with consecutive runner-up finishes, while Reschs Milk looks capable of taking another step after two competitive runs back.

Autafinna looks the runner with the strongest foundation and can break through on return.

Had two starts to date. At debut, raced on speed throughout when 2nd of 11 at Taree Cl1-Sw on June 30 over 1600m, on heavy track; 0.5 len behind Bridego carrying 56.5kg at $19. Second-up made some head-way from midfield; 2nd of 8 at Taree Cl1-Sw on July 21 over 2018m, on heavy track; long-neck behind Smokey Saint with 56.5kg at $1.95. Close to a win and looks to have more upside than most of these.

Gosford: Race 4
No. 3 Gus The Great

This looks an intriguing maiden with several lightly raced runners capable of taking a step forward.

GUS THE GREAT brings the strongest exposed form with multiple placings before a spell, Acharnee has trialled and raced like a horse with plenty of ability, while Ho Aloha has been remarkably consistent and looks ready to win after a series of competitive efforts.

Gus The Great looks the runner to beat, but this shapes as a race where improvement from the lightly raced brigade could prove decisive.

Gosford: Race 5
No. 2 Spartus

This looks a competitive benchmark-style race with several runners bringing strong winning credentials and others looking to bounce back after fresh campaigns.

SPARTUS arrives in terrific form after breaking through with a dominant win last start, Dietrich has an excellent fresh record and brings strong figures despite rising in grade, while Harlex has been racing consistently and gets a useful weight relief with the apprentice claim.

Spartus looks the horse with the strongest current form profile and can continue his winning run.

Gosford: Race 8
No. 4 I’m Super
Each Way

This is a really competitive race with a number of runners arriving in good form and several others looking ready to improve third-up or fresh.

I’M SUPER has been racing in terrific fashion with three wins from his past four starts, Tigroni brings strong form around some quality opposition, while You’re The Choice looks suited returning from a fresh campaign after a strong second-up effort last preparation.

I’m Super does face a rise in class, but with the runs on the board, he looms as an appealing each way contender again in a wide-open affair.
