Legendary Lands – $20 Into $11,020.69

It has been a while between Legendary Lands this year, but a patient punter has completed a big multi this morning.

The multi was placed last Wednesday in the midst of the Australian Open and our punter got off to a flying start when big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic was able to easily defeat Gael Monfils in the Australian Open Quarter-Finals at a quote of $1.36.

Our punter decided to take a gamble in his second leg and this is where he added the majority of the value to this multi.

He elected to back Manchester City to beat Everton exactly 3-1 in their Capital One Cup and a couple of late goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero were enough to get City home and put our punter in the box seat.

The multi continued over the weekend and our punter took his other big risk when he backed the inexperienced Central Coast Mariners to beat the Wellington Phoenix at a quote of $3.80.

The Mariners got the job done in comfortable fashion before Chelsea ($1.33) gave him another winning leg after they score a comfortable win over Milton Keynes Dons in their FA Cup clash over the week.

This patient punter was then forced to wait three days to complete his multi and he still required four wins to turn $20 into $11,020.69.

Leicester were his longest priced selection at $2.40, but they always had control against Liverpool and a Jamie Vardy ripper gave them the lead before they cruised home in the final stages to record a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Tottenham were $1.85 to beat Norwich and they never looked in doubt after Dele Ali scored in the second minute of the game, while West Ham ($1.22 plus the draw) never looked in danger of conceding and recorded an easy 2-0 win.

This meant that our punter only needed the high-flying Manchester City to beat the lowly Sunderland to complete his heroic multi, but it was in this fixture where disaster almost struck.

Manchester City were completely outplayed by Sunderland, but the Black Cats blew a number of easy scoring opportunities and it was a Sergio Aguero goal that saved Manchester City’s blushes again this season and delivered our punter a massive win!
