Champion former trainer Peter Moody has begun the next phase of his work life signing on as an ambassador for online bookmaker, Ladbrokes.
The 54 time group one winner, who departed the training ranks last month on the back of one final top tier success with Flamberge in the William Reid Stakes, has signed a 12 month deal with Ladbrokes with an option to extend.
“As I’ve said all along, I need a job just like everyone else and what Ladbrokes has in the pipeline moving forward is very exciting” Moody said.
Moody’s role with Ladbrokes will be broad but he’ll play a key role as a racing analyst for the world’s oldest corporate bookmaker as it launches a broadcast arm.
“We have some really exciting things planned in the near future and we are rapt to have Moods join our stable to be part of it,” Ladbrokes Head of Media, Roger Oldridge said.
“From a personal point of view, Pete and I worked closely throughout the Black Caviar era and with a regular spot together on Channel Ten News, so it is great to be back working together.”
Moody, who despite a six month training ban, remains in the racing industry through his bloodstock work, is enjoying a fresh approach to work life after many years of early starts preparing hundreds of horses.
“It’s actually been quite a refreshing month or so taking that step back but I obviously still want to be involved in the racing industry and Ladbrokes was a really good fit,” he said.
With no horses working under his guidance, Moody will provide an in depth, unbiased and educated view on all things racing for Ladbrokes customers in what is sure to be seen a win for punters. Moody begins his role on May 1.
