We have the latest A-League tips this week for all six games of Round 2, kicking off with Brisbane Roar vs Perth Glory on Friday night.
Punters can get the latest A-League odds at Ladbrokes, which are available for every game of the season.
Most of the early money has come for Brisbane to win their first game of the season against Perth, who lost their opening game last week.
The Glory went down 2-1 to Macarthur, and although it wasn’t a bad effort, playing Brisbane on the road is a tough game, and they might need another couple of weeks to post their first win.
We’re backing the Roar to win at $2.10. Those odds could firm throughout the week, and our A-League predictions this week are happy to include them in multis.
Our A-League tips this week include Macarthur FC to start their season a perfect 2-0, following a win over Perth last week.
It was a good way to start their season, and although life gets more difficult on the road against Newcastle, they have momentum on their side, and Newcastle’s defence last week wasn’t fantastic.
They allowed two goals, so Macarthur could score early and put the Jets away. The $3.15 odds are worth taking as a value bet, and they’re another team that could shorten in betting markers throughout the week.
The Wanderers did well last week to hold Sydney to a 0-0 draw, but what they did well on defence, they didn’t do well on attack.
We thought their offence was pretty average, and any chances they had, they put over the goal post. It wasn’t a good game to watch, and Auckland FC are good enough to expose their weaknesses.
Auckland started their title defence with a good 3-1 win over Melbourne City, which is a good form guide. They’ll build on that performance, and the $2.60 odds are some of the best value we see this week.
Both Melbourne teams suffered losses in the opening week, but we’re backing Melbourne Victory to bounce back from the loss.
They are 5-1 in their last six A-League matches at AAMI Park following a loss, so they’re good at bouncing back at home, and City didn’t look that great last week, so they’re there for the taking.
The current $2.50 odds are fair, and although we don’t know what these teams will produce this season, the Victory looks to have slightly more upside.
Our A-League Round 2 tips include Wellington Phoenix, who we backed to win at $2.85 odds last week.
They’re paying much shorter odds this week, which is understandable given their opening win. It was a good effort from an underrated club, and they’re hoping to keep tabs on the other NZ franchise.
Central Coast had a 2-2 draw, which was a solid performance, but being on the road isn’t easy, especially in Wellington, and the Phoenix could capitalise on the situation by starting 2-0 this season.
It was a dour effort from Sydney last week in a 0-0 draw against the Wanderers, but at least it wasn’t a loss.
They were good defensively, which is a positive sign, and with Adelaide United playing their first game of the season, the advantage goes to Sydney, who will only be better for their first hit out.
There is some trepidation in betting markets, but $2.20 is a fair price.
