Daily Sports Tips – Saturday 9th July

Boston Red Sox vs Tampa Bay Rays 9:10am AEST
Red Sox To Win @ $1.91

American League East rivals the Red Sox and Rays meet in Boston on Saturday morning. The Sox have been reasonably inconsistent through recent weeks, but delivered the league-leading Rangers a heavy defeat at Fenway Park on Thursday. Transversely the Rays were on the wrong end of a 5-1 loss to the Angels at home and probably face too great a task in reversing the result in Boston.

Gold Coast Suns vs Brisbane Lions 4:35pm AEST
Lions To Cover The Line (+33.5 Points)

The 12th edition of the QClash will peg the misfiring Suns and Lions against one-another, in what is likely-to-be one of the more well contested games of the weekend. Both teams have been nothing short of woeful this season, but a Suns’ win in Round 15 means they will start this match clear favourites. Regardless, the Lions are more than capable of covering the +33.5 line.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Wests Tigers 7:35pm AEST
Brett Morris To Score A Try At Any Time @ $1.70

Only one NRL game will be contested today, and both the Bulldogs and Tigers have been affected by Origin selection. The Bulldogs backline remains intact; rich with the potency of players like the Morris twins, while Wests are missing undoubtedly their biggest draw cards in Aaron Woods, James Tedesco and Robbie Farah. The Tigers’ defence is undoubtedly going to take a peppering, and Brett Morris crashing over at some point seems a foregone conclusion.

Waratahs vs Hurricanes 7:45pm AEST
Waratahs To Win @ $1.70

It’s pretty much a case of do-or-die for the Waratahs, who have to win their final two regular season matches if they are to beat the Brumbies to top spot in the Australian conference. Allianz Stadium is a tough road trip for even the competition’s best and while the Hurricanes do sit higher on the overall Australasian Group ladder, the Waratahs should be too good in Sydney.
