The result of this morning’s US Open match between Novak Djokovic and Kyle Edmund appears to be all but a foregone conclusion, but the latter’s form leading into this fixture is nothing to be scoffed at and is worth consideration. Edmund cruised into the third round of the Open and took two sets from John Isner before the American was forced to retire two days ago. Novak will probably win, but is tournament has been nothing less than shaky and Edmund represents terrific value to win at least one set.
Dominic Thiem began his US Open campaign with a shaky five-set win over Aussie John Millman and has been anything but convincing on his way to the fourth round. Juan Martin Del Potro stormed back into the limelight with his strong performance for silver at the Rio Olympics and enters this match off the back of a three set demolition of David Ferrer. Del Potro looks like he’s on his way to the semi-finals and shouldn’t face much resistance from Thiem; winning in three sets.
These two colleges will begin their 2016/17 campaigns in the same way they did last year; against one another. Notre Dame absolutely trampled Texas 38-3 in that fixture and if anything, they have only improved. The Fighting Irish made a habit of impressive wins throughout last season; a feat that was particularly impressive in considering the string of key injuries they were battling all season. Notre Dame look set to fly the gates, and they represent great value at $1.91 to score more than 29 points today.
