The majority of punters were left fuming at the conclusion of race 4 at Caulfield on Saturday, but that certainly was not the case with one of our customers who was able to turn $28.80 into $27,558.72!
Darren Weir-trained Kiwia went into the Laming Racing Handicap at Caulfield as a clear favourite following his win over the same track and distance a fortnight ago and he really did look like the horse to beat.
Kiwia cruised into the race in the middle of the field, but jockey Brandon Stockdale was unable to find clear running until the race was all but over and it is fair to say that there were plenty of unhappy punters right around the country.
Windbern was the longest-priced winner of the day at Caulfield and our astute punter not only had the Mick Price-trained winner in his boxed first four, but also the next four horses across the line.
Dwayne Dunn just about knocked over half the field to get Windbern across the line, but that did not bother our punter as the $21 winner added plenty of value to his first four.

Snipfit was the outside of the Laming Racing Handicap field, but ran a ripper race as the front-runner and he ended up playing $15 to place to add even more value to our punter’s first four.
Shadow Prince started the race as a $31 chance and finished in the placings to give Mick Price first and third, while the unlucky Kiwia was fourth to ensure that our punter walked away as a winner.
Perhaps even more impressively, the fifth horse that our punter included in his boxed first four was Dandre and he finished in fifth!
We are sure that this punter was happy with his outstanding windfall, but he would have taken home even more than the healthy $27,558.72 if Kiwia had been held up for a couple more strides and it was Dandre that finished in fourth.
This was one of a number of outstanding punting performances by our customers this weekend – another punter turned $150 into $71,554.48 with a juicy quadrella at Geelong on Sunday – and there are plenty of punters that head into the working week with very full accounts!
