Everybody dreams of turning their $25 weekend cross-sports multi into five figures and that is exactly what one punter has done, with a truly memorable 12-leg multi.

It all started in the NRL on Friday night and it really was a fairly easy watch for our punter – the Cronulla Sharks were always in control against the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Adelaide Crows led for just about the entire game against Geelong.

It was a big afternoon of AFL action on Saturday and our punter got stuck into a number of games.

Essendon cruised to victory against North Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs comfortably covered the line against the Gold Coast Suns and the Sydney Swans were far too strong for St Kilda.

The Super Rugby action went just about uncovered in Australia this weekend, but that didn’t stop our punter and he added another winning leg to his epic multi when the Crusaders beat the Highlanders.

Our punter had his first real scare on Saturday afternoon when he backed the Penrith Panthers to cover the line against the Gold Coast Titans.

The Titans led early and the game was fairly close throughout, but a pair of tries to Matt Moylan and Dallin Watene Zelezniak was enough to get them over the line.

He also took a risk in the game between the Canberra Raiders and the Melbourne as he backed Melbourne to win by between one and 12 points.

The Storm led by ten points and were attacking the Raiders line late, but a consolation Canberra try gave our punter some breathing space before he added another winning leg when the North Queensland Cowboys beat the New Zealand Warriors.

Our punter went into Sunday needing only three more winning bets to complete his epic multi.

The faith that he showed in Richmond looked ill-placed when Greater Western Sydney led by 20 points at the end of the first quarter, but the Tigers were terrific for the remainder of this clash and the $3.60 on offer for them to win by between one and 24 points added a great deal of value to this multi.

The St George Illawarra’s Dragons big win over the Manly Sea Eagles got our punter’s penultimate leg home and as long as the Brisbane Lions covered the line with a big start of 31.5 points he would turn $25 Into $12,917.05.

Normally having to rely on the Brisbane Lions would be a huge issue, but they were excellent against Carlton and the always looked certain to cover for punter!
