Winx will start the 2017 Ladbrokes Cox Plate as one of the shortest-priced favourites in the history of the Australasian Weight-For-Age Championship and we have a couple of punters that are desperate for the star mare to get the job done.
Winx has been the long-time favourite to win the 2017 Ladbrokes Cox Plate and a couple our savvy punters included her in long-term multis much earlier in the year.
Our first punter placed his multi way back in April and if Winx is able to win the Ladbrokes Cox Plate he will turn $100 into $36,942.69.
He started this multi with a fairly odd selection – Single Note to win the Joe Chila Memorial Handicap at Ladbrokes Park on April 5 – but this proved to be a shrewd move as he cruised to victory at a quote of $3.90.
Our punter then turned his attention to the AFL and he backed Dustin Martin to win the Brownlow Medal @ $6.50, Lance Franklin To Win the Coleman Medal @ $5 and the Adelaide Crows to finish in the top four at $1.67.
All these bets were successful and he was able to lock in the big price of $1.75 for Winx to win the Ladbrokes Cox Plate – a bet which now looks nothing short of genius heading into the Group 1 event this weekend.
Our other punter placed what now looks like an even better bet in May and he is a Winx win in the Ladbrokes Cox Plate away from turning $50 into $27,550.
We have to assume this bloke is a Richmond fan as he showed plenty of faith in the Tigers in the early stages of the season by including Richmond to win the Premiership in his multi at the juicy odds of $23.
He continued the Richmond theme when he included Dustin Martin to win the Brownlow Medal at $4, while as his third leg he had the Melbourne Storm to win the NRL Premiership at $3.75.
Apart from Dustin Martin and maybe Jack Riewoldt, nobody enjoyed Grand Final week more than this punter and he will be even more excited if – or should we say when – Winx wins the Ladbrokes Cox Plate this Saturday.
