Putting on a sneaky Sunday afternoon multi and hoping for the best is one of the simple pleasures in life.
What is even better is when that multi wins and turns $5 into $17,813.25, which is exactly what happened to one of our punters this weekend!
Our punter started his multi in the opening race of the day at Ballarat and he backed Darren Weir-trained Danesai at the juicy odds of $7 to beat the well-backed Crafty Lion.
The result was never in doubt as Danesai cruised to a comfortable victory and got our punter off to a flying start.
Our punter locked in a price of $7 for Matriarchal in the second race at Ballarat and there were some worrying signs as Matriarchal drifted out to $13.
Matriarchal was ridden aggressively by Jamie Mott and looked beaten with 100 metres left to run, but was somehow able to pick himself off the canvas and record a narrow win in a thrilling finish.
Our punter continued his love affair with Darren Weir in the third race at Ballarat and he backed Reilmartini at $6.
This was a much easier watch for our punter as Reilmartini recorded a comfortable win and this excited punter was now only one win away from a truly incredible payout.
It was a nervous couple of hours wait for the sixth race and he would have been despondent as Seento drifted from $13 out to $21 in the lead-up to the race.
He need not have worried!
Dean Yendall gave Seento a lovely run in transit and he absolutely bolted clear of his rivals when he was asked for an extra effort!
That gave our punter four winners from as many Darren Weir-backed runners and he was able to turn a single $5 into a staggering $17,813.25!
