You wouldn’t normally be disappointed to turn $50 into $19,437.20, but the punter featured in our latest Legendary Lands may have felt a little bit hard down by!
Our punter started a big afternoon on the punter at the Gawler Greyhounds and he got off to a flying start when the well-backed Agent Thirteen was able to record a comfortable win at $2.
He then had a lengthy wait until the next leg of his multi and he took a big risk when he backed Larrakin Locky.
Larrakin Locky ended up drifting out to even longer odds, but he was able to defy the drift to give our punter his second winner.
Another roughie comprised the third leg of this multi and the aplty named Casino added even more value to this multi at the juicy odds of $8.
Casino was another drifter, but once again it wasn’t an issue and our punter had completed a flawless afternoon at Gawler.
This would have been a very juicy multi in its own rights, but he wasn’t done just yet and to cap-off this multi he included Darren Weir-trained Party Host in the sixth race at Ballarat at $2.80.
This is when things almost turned ugly for our punter!
John Allen gave Party Host a peach of a ride and he looked like he had the race won when he hit the front at the top of the straight, but he was simply unable to fight-off Antagonist.
Antagonist fought back in the shadows of the post and looked as though he had handed our punter the cruellest of defeats.
The judge analysed the photo for an eternity and was eventually unable to split them – declaring the race a deadheat.
This wasn’t the news that our punter wanted to hear, but he was still able to turn $50 Into $19,437.20!
