It was a fairly brutal day for punters at Royal Randwick for the opening day of The Championships, but one of our punters was able to bounce back in very emphatic fashion!
This punter was able to turn $144 into $60,275.33 with an outstanding five-leg multi!
Our punter started his big afternoon on the punt at Launceston and he backed the promising Liffeybeau in the opening race at a price of $2.70.
It really couldn’t have been a better start for our punter as Liffeybeau was able to cruise to an effortless victory.
He found another short-priced favourite in the second race at Launceston and the trip to the Apple Isle proved very successful for our punter as Sh’bourne Star ($3.10) was able to get the chocolates.
Our punter turned his attention to Ballarat and the string of winners continued as odds-on favourite Petrelle ($1.80) absolutely bolted in to record a dominant three lengths victory.
Race four at Wellington was the next contest for punter and he elected to take the conservative approach and backed Sky Mission to finish in the placings at $2.45.
Sky Mission tired in the final stages of the race, but so did plenty of his rivals and he was able to cling-on for third to move our punter to within one leg of a massive victory!
It was the final leg that added plenty of value to this multi as our punter back A Mist Opportunity to win the sixth race at Ballarat at the very juicy odds of $8.
It didn’t look good for our punter as A Mist Opportunity drifted right out to $14 and there was plenty of money for Darren Weir-trained Scoliaro.
A Mist Opportunity was given a lovely run right on the speed by jockey Daniel Stackhouse and she showed a nice turn-of-foot in the concluding stages to deliver our punter a monster.
What a way to spend a Sunday – turning $144 into $60,275.33!
