Legendary Lands – $500 into $106,956.88

One baseball mad punter read the starting pitchers just right and nailed a nine-leg multi (including one NRL match) turning his $500 investment into a $106,956.88 return. Each of the eight baseball bets were on the total run market counting on starting pitching to come through or have a bad day.

This multi started off in Japan with two games picked to have plenty of runs in them. In the first game, the final score of 7-3 to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles was over the 6.5 line but it went down to the wire with a four run tenth inning clearing the first leg. The second Japanese League game was slightly less tense as the Yomiuri Giants bats lived up to their name blasting 20 runs in their comfortable victory over the Chunichi Dragons, going over 7.5 total runs in an eighth inning explosion. Wednesday’s bets closed out with our punter backing the Melbourne Storm to beat the Warriors and there was no stress involved with that game as the Storm crushed the Warriors 50-10.

Thursday morning our time saw our punter’s attention turn to the MLB with six more matches to keep an eye on. The Washington Nationals more than doubled the game’s over/under of 6.5 runs putting up 15 in their win over the San Francisco Giants. Following that up was the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins with the highest Over bet of the multi, and they went over the required 9.5 runs by the top of the seventh inning.

Like a good baseball manager looking to his closers, our punter was relying on the pitchers to close out the final four legs of this multi but it did result in some very nervy moments, starting with the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds. That game finished 5-4 meaning there was a lot of nerves around Braves closer AJ Minter holding out in the ninth inning.

Three West Coast games made up the final part of the multi and the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies comfortably came under the 10.5 line with a 5-2 Rockies final score. Seattle and the Chicago White Sox finished with the Mariners winning 4-3 and with the home side retiring the last thirteen batters in order, Chicago never had a chance to send this game over 9.5 total runs. The final game was between the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros where superstar pitcher Justin Verlander threw seven impressive innings to keep the Angels to a low run total and the final 5-2 scoreline was under the 8.5 line bringing this multi home.
