Legendary Lands – $20 into $12563.94

This NRL season has been tough to pick game to game, but one Ladbrokes punter enjoyed a perfect weekend hitting this Legendary Land where they correctly backed all eight winners in a multi. That turned their initial $20 outlay into a healthy return of $12,563.94 and a story to dine out on for a long time.

Our punter backed the Broncos to beat the Bunnies in the Thursday night clash and after they raced to an 18-0 lead in the first half hour. While Souths did manage to bring it back to level pegging just after half time, Brisbane galloped home after the hour mark scoring 20 unanswered points to help this Legendary Land off to the best possible start.

Friday’s double header did not get off to a great start with the Gold Coast Titans scoring first, then giving up the next four tries as Manly got out to a 22-6 lead after half an hour. Alexander Brimson got one back for the Gold Coast just before the break and that was enough to kick start the Titans in the second half. Five tries in just over 20 minutes after the break sent the scoreboard back in their favour and despite two late tries by the Trbojevic brothers the Titans held on. In part two of the Friday feature, our punter backs the heavily favoured Storm who weathered plenty of injuries and fended off the Eels by a 20-4 margin.

Sitting at three out of three so far, our punter went against the finals bound Panthers in the early Saturday fixture, and they read the game perfectly as the Knights were able to spring an upset. The Knights who came out of the blocks firing and won 20-12 to bring the multi to the halfway mark. There was a real arm wrestle between the Dragons and Tigers as both teams stepped up their defensive efforts. It was the Dragons coming through again for another win for our punter with a final score of 20-10.

The Saturday night trifecta was completed with the Cowboys falling to the Sharks in Cronulla in another game that featured a flurry of late points. With 20 minutes remaining, the Sharks lead 12-6 however the remainder of the game featured five tries and the Sharks pulling away for a 28-16 win.

With just two legs remaining, our punter was set up for a very nervous Sunday afternoon, needing two more results for a perfect NRL round. While the Warriors sat above the Bulldogs on the table, there was plenty of optimism around the home side and their potential to play spoiler. It was a back and forth contest for the full 80 minutes before Lachlan Lewis struck the decisive field goal in the waning minutes to put the Bulldogs up 27-26.

In the final game our punter backed the Raiders at home against the Roosters and despite the visitors scoring two tries to one, a calm kicking display by Sam Williams was the difference. Williams made one conversion and four penalties to put the Raiders on top 14-12 and perhaps more importantly for one viewer, seal their Legendary Land.
