The Badgelor Episode 7

The Badgelor Episode 7

It was a great night of prime-time sport on Network Ten last night!

We were treated to a broadcast of the 100 metre Runner from the Bachelor Mansion Sprint and Moonhopping Netball – the sports answer to T20/AFLX.

The network also provided progress scores as to what was happening on The Bachelor to ensure we can hand out more votes in our very own award, The Badgelor.

The Bachelor Episode 7 Recap

 – The show starts off with Alishia announcing that a group date is on the cards. It’s clear that Alishia is purely on the show to commentate not participate and we want for banted breath for her first on-screen interaction with The Honey Badger. Alishia also informs the girls that there will be intruders joining them. The girls, especially the likes of Cat and Romy, are delighted that some more lovely ladies will be joining them on this journey of love.

– At the group date, we meet three new ladies/intruders. First, we meet Deanna and she makes an immediate impact on our hero Cat. Then there’s Jamie-Lee who wears according to Alishia “A Banging Jump Suit” and finally Brittney who rates herself as very funny and culturally aware by informing the Honey Badger she had indeed been to Japan and greeted him with “Konichiwa” – which is Japanese for hello.

– The girls are made to play a game of “Moonhopping Netball”, which apparently is Netball while sitting on a bouncy ball. The game turns into a free-for-all and intruder Jamie-Lee finds herself with an ankle injury after a rough tackle from Brooke!Single Date Time! This week Tenille gets a run and they go on a motorbike to a honey farm to make honey from bees. That’s right, making Honey with the Honey Badger! Tenille figures that shoving a whole heap of fresh honey in her gob will impress the Honey Badger, but finds herself coping a load of wax in her mouth.

– Tenille is adamant that she does not kiss on the first date, but on The Bachelor miracles happen. She does kiss the Honey Badger on the first date – even if he’s already played tonsil hockey with a few of the other ladies It was a beautiful moment and she accepted a rose.

– Back at the mansion Tenille brags about her date. The moral compass of the show – obviously the trio of Cat, Romy and Alishia – don’t take kindly to this and go on about how apparently “disrespectful” she comes across in kissing The Honey Badger. Clearly, Romy is suffering withdrawls from not throwing someone under the bus for a while and figured it was best to be an absolute bully to Tenille. Tenille has had enough. She walks out, breaks the fourth wall, tells the camera crew she’s as mad as hell and she’s not going to take Romy anymore and runs away.

– A producer tries to console Tenille and get her back to the mansion. The producer, who obviously has Tenille’s best interest at heart, convinces her to stay and that running away isn’t safe but being subject to vicious bullying from Romy is. When walking back to the mansion, the producer offers Tenille her shoes, but she wouldn’t be seen dead in those.

– Rose Ceremony. The girls are hopeful that at least one intruder goes home. The new girls all stay. Ashely and Rhiannon are sent home. Australia is hoping that Romy is sent home sooner rather than later. The promo for Thursday night’s show looks promising. One can only hope.

 MINUS 3 VOTES: ROMY

In the previous edition of The Badgelor, we deducted all of Romy’s votes for what she did to Vanessa Sunshine and for being just awful. Programs like The Bachelor will always have their mean ones, but Romy is not just mean, she is a bully. It’s not even entertaining. It’s simply plain bullying and when moral arbitrators like Twitter and the Ladbrokes Blog are calling out this kind of behaviour on a show like The Bachelor, that’s saying something. It will be a wonderful night for Australia when this bully does not receive a Rose or better still, gets booted out by The Honey Badger before a rose ceremony. #RomyOut

1 VOTE – CAT

Yes, we know Cat is mean and can easily be likened to Romy. However, unlike the Shelly Craft look-a-like Romy, Cat has timing. She actually knows how to be the mean one on the show and her pieces to camera are hilarious. Her acting like she doesn’t know the names of the intruders was an outstanding play. Cat is a key position player on the show – the mean girl. She plays it well, but it’s a shame the other mean girls prevent her from reaching her full potential of mean but entertaining.

2 VOTES –  BRITTNEY (INTRUDER)

A great debut from the intruder. Came in all guns blazing, not ashamed to act like it was still Schoolies Week and had no shame to try on the same dance moves from Sterosonic 2014. Her understanding of Japanese culture by simply greeting the Honey Badger with a simple “Konichiwa” was beautify.

The second Brittney (with an NEY) looks to add some serious entertainment to the show and therefore gets the two votes. Think of it as a rising star nomination.

3 VOTES – THE PRODUCER

As Tenille sprinted her way out of The Bachelor mansion after having to deal with Romy, it was this plain clothed producer who came to the aid of her. Of course, personal welfare was paramount but this unnamed television producer (They don’t have proper credits at the end of the show anymore) put things in perspective to Tenille that she is on the show for Nick, not to be bullied by the likes of Romy. I have in good faith the producers will do something about Romy before the HR department steps in.  It was clear that the camera crew must have had prior experience working on shows like A Current Affair, with the great shots they were able to get of Tenille doing a runner. If anything these three votes aren’t just for the producer, but the whole production crew on duty during that cocktail party.

The Bachelor Betting Market Update

All three intruders have been added to our market with Brittney at $4.50, Jamie-Lee at $41 and Deanna at $67.

Sophie is out to $4, Brooke out to $8 and Cass remains a steady $9.

Tenille might be able to win the Bachelor mansion sprint, but she’s an outsider to win the heart of the Honey Badger at $34.

The holy trinity of mean Cat, Alishia and Romy are all at $101 to win.

The punters however are still favouring the original Brittany to win – she’s at $1.33
