Vedder was only narrowly denied by the promising Roheryn in his racing debut at Warwick Farm and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat in this contest. Brenton Avdulla will be able to take him straight to the front in the early stages of this race and he is a deserving favourite to claim a maiden race win.
Taniko showed a fair amount of ability during her maiden racing campaign earlier this year and she is a mare that still does have upside. She should take benefit from this performance, but it would not surprise if James Cummings has her fairly forward fresh and class should take her a long way in what is not the strongest race.
Coterie returned to the races with a smart win at Wyong and he is starting to deliver on the potential that he showed as a younger horse. The field that he meets at Gosford this afternoon really isn’t much tougher and Brenton Avdulla has an excellent record at Gosford.
Zoffany’s Lad has become something of a cult hero and it is easy to like a horse that has now recorded four wins on the trot. He never wins by a big margin, but he is a horse that simply knows where the finishing post is. This is his toughest test to date, but he is a proven performer that can continue on his winning ways.
