Wissama was only narrowly denied at Cessnock at her first race start and was again the bridesmaid last start at Port Macquarie. She should be able to slot in and take a sit just in behind the leaders and peel off in the straight. She look well placed to break through for her maiden victory here today.
Velaro burst clear first up at Scone and looked the winner until Net Effect grabbed him late. That horse has gone on to run well since which franks the form. He should have finished closer at Randwick on the 13th of October but jockey Tim Clark did not ride the horse out and he clearly didn’t appreciate the heavy track. He drops back in class here and has drawn well which will give him every possible hope.
Raheen Lady put in a out of character poor performance at Orange two back and consequently started long odds last time out. She bounced back however with a very good performance. She doesn’t win out of turn however she should get a gun run from barrier three and makes her own luck on the speed.
Zippy Hippy doesn’t win out of turn but his last start at Armidale was an impressive effort considering he made all the pace in the race out in front. He has drawn wide here today but he should go forward and make his own luck. If he gets a soft run in front he can be in it for a long way at nice each way odds.
