November Handicap Day Preview

2019 Membership Sprint (1100m) - Race 1 12:45pm

Roheryn looks tough to beat here but is short enough for me. I think Chess Star can run a nice race first up here for the Waterhouse and Bott stable.

He has had two trials leading into this including a nice second to Redzel in his most recent. He maps to get a nice spot just in behind the leaders and if he can steal a few lengths on the favourite, he can run a cheeky race

Summer Racing Handicap (2400m) - Race 2 1:20pm

Tamarack has now had two runs over the 2400m in consecutive starts and should be rock hard fit.

Cosmologist stole a couple of lengths heading into the straight last time out but he fought on well and was not beaten far.

Jay Ford will look for a nice spot just in behind the leaders and he will be running on late.

Highway Handicap (1100m) - Race 3 1:55pm

Iamacrumpet got lost in the straight on the 23rd of October and it cost her the race.

She atoned for that effort with a very impressive performance last time out as she gave her competitors a bit of a lesson.

She has drawn a good gate and Jason Collett can let her stroll to the front and she will be very tough to run down.

November Topaz (1900m) - Race 4 2:30pm

Our Century for Kim Waugh and Australian Bloodstock look to be overs here for mine. A win in the Listed Lord Mayors and a third in the Listed McKell Cup last time in looks good enough form to be competitive first up here.

He has had two trials leading into this and although it may be short of his best, he is can run a race from a good draw.

November Handicap (1400m) (1600m) - Race 5 3:05pm

Snippets Land did not handle the heavy going in the Sydney Stakes but was impressive in a recent trial leading into this. He’ll appreciate the step up in distance and barrier one shouldn’t be a problem as he tends to race back anyway. It should be a genuine tempo so look for him late.

Dagny is another that will appreciate a strong tempo and looks to be over the odds for mine. He runs well fresh and only has to carry 52kg in this.

TAB.com.au Handicap (2000m) - Race 6 3:45pm

Watchdog looks well placed here with the light weight.

The Godolphin four year old will get a lovely run in transit just behind the speed and can move on to bigger and better things.

Rosehill Bowling Club Sprint (1100m) - Race 7 4:20pm

I have a lot of time for this Exceed and Excel colt Isaurian. He has been very consistent throughout his career to date and he is close to stringing together some wins.

He was freshened up after his second at The Valley and ran a nice 4th at Randwick. He was only beaten a couple of lengths and will take improvement.

There is an interesting runner at the top of the weights in Strathmore. The Fastnet Rock gelding has moved over from Hong Kong straight into the Chris Waller stable and has been well supported in early betting. Must be respected.

Australian Turf Club Sprint (1200m) - Race 8 5:00pm

Although this is short of her best distance, Hussterical should run well at double figure odds. She was very brave first up and if she gets a soft time in front she will prove difficult to run down.

Seasons looks a serious horse. She put the writing on the wall with two very impressive wins at the end of her last prep. She is a lightly raced mare and her two barrier trials leading into this first up assignment suggests she is ready to fire here.

#TheRaces Handicap (1300m) - Race 9 5:40pm

Newsfan doesn’t know how to run a bad race. She has won 3 of her 7 race starts and 2nd on the other 4 occasions. That included a very impressive second to Serene Miss in the Provincial Championship Final. She returned to the races at rosehill with a win and looks to be well placed again.
