Just when you thought that Bernard Tomic couldn’t hit a new low, he has gone and done it!
After a decent performance against Marin Cilic in the opening round of the Australian Open, Tomic made himself public enemy number one again when he used his post-match press conference to viciously attack Lleyton Hewitt.
Has Tomic got too far with his latest attack? Sadly this isn’t the first time he has made a fool of himself.
Bernie Skips Australian Open For Stint In The Jungle
Tomic did at least attempt to qualify for the Australian Open, but he lost to unheralded Italian Lorenzo Sonego in the final round of qualifying.
Following his loss in qualifying, Tomic bizarrely entered reality television show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, which just happened to be on at the same time as the Australian Open.
Reports indicate that he was handsomely paid for his troubles.
Did Tomic reward producers for their financial investment in him? No.
Tomic quit the competition after three days as his ranking blew out to 243 in the world.

Bernie Holds Racquet The Wrong Way
Nick Kyrgios takes plenty of the heat for tanking, but Tomic also belongs in the Tanking Hall Of Fame.
He was famously dubbed Tomic The Tank Engine after he quit only a set into his first round match with Rafa Nadal at the 2014 Australian Open, but this effort surely takes the tanking cake.
Tomic was taking on Fabio Fognini at the Madrid Masters when he elected to attempt to return serve while holding his racquet the wrong way!
Bernie Enjoys A Local Night Club
It has become increasingly clear that Bernie enjoys a good time better than he does playing tennis and boy did he lap it up as a Toolie during the 2013 Schoolies on the Gold Coast.
A shirtless Bernie was treated to a string of lap dances from a couple of eager nightclub goers and a clearly excited Tomic was more than happy to take a few happy snaps with his female admirers.
Notice his hat in what is known as the ‘sad wannabe gangster’ position.
Bernie Loses His Licence
Bernie loves himself a fast car, but this has got into a great deal of trouble with local Gold Coast police.
On Australia Day in 2012, Bernie was fined for three separate traffic infringements while driving his Yellow Ferrari and the police ruled that he was only able to drive the car to and from tennis practice – so only a couple of times a year at most.
Tomic and his father accused the police of harassment, while the rest of the nation lauded these police officers as heroes.
Bernie Gets Arrested
Sadly, Bernie’s Fast And Furious impression wasn’t his only run-in with the police and just under a year ago he spent the night at a Miami Beach Police Station.
Bernie hosted a good old-fashioned house party after being knocked out of the Miami Masters and he found his way into police custody when he refused to turn down his music, aggressively confronted security and then refused to leave the premesis.
Bernie Turns On His Only Friend
One of the only people in Australia that likes Bernie is Nick Kyrgios, but Bernie was quick to throw his mate under the bus during a recent Davis Cup tie with The United States.
Bernie decided not to worry about focusing his attention on trying to beat John Isner and spent a change of ends ranting to poor Lleyton Hewitt that Kyrgios was faking the illness that got him ruled out of the tie.
Bernie Makes ATP Tour History
Bernie has suffered a number of embarrassing losses during his career to date, but none more so then his 6-0, 6-1 defeat at the hands of Jarkko Nieminen at the Sony Open in Miami in 2014.
This was the shortest – and some would say the most pathetic performance – match in the history of the ATP Tour and the Miami crowd has not let Bernie forget it when he returns to their tournament once a year.
Bernie Blows Up At The Old Man
A lot of people blame all of Bernie’s problems on his old Man John Tomic and it appears that Bernie himself is one of these people.
It is clear that the pair have a fairly volatile relationship and at the Miami Masters in 2012 – what is it with Bernie and that tournament – Bernie asked the umpire to remove his father from the stands because he was ‘annoying him’.
Bernie Wears A Funny Hat
Unlike in Miami, Bernie has had plenty of success in Colombia and he has won the Colombia Open in back-to-back years.
Not only did that accumulate him plenty of prizemoney and rankings points, but he got to wear this brand new hat!
Bernie Makes A Fashion Statement

Bernie Blames His Woes On Tennis Australia
The Police, Nick Kyrgios and his Dad have all been blamed for Tomic’s woes over the years, but at Wimbledon last year it was Pat Rafter and Tennis Australia’s turn to feel his wrath.
We aren’t really sure what Bernie’s point was here, but it sounds as though he doesn’t think Pat Rafter knows what he is doing and he isn’t a fan of paying for balls.
Bernie Cheats Against Dolgopolov
One of Bernie’s career highlights came when he made it to the fourth round of the 2012 Australian Open, but even that was tainted by controversy.
During his third round match with the popular Alexandr Dolgopolov, Tomic clearly called for a challenge in the middle of the point but then continued to play the point when it was not acknowledged by the umpire.
Dolgopolov did play out the point and he rightfully blew up deluxe when Tomic was awarded the point.
