Hobart - Race 5 2:55pm AEDT

No. 7 Mystic Journey

Three-year-old fillies have a poor record in the Thomas Lyons Stakes, but there is no doubt that Mystic Journey has the ability to change that. She stamped herself as a future star with her win in the Fillies Classic at The Valley on Ladbrokes Cox Plate Day and her return to racing at Launceston had to be seen to be believe. She will end up in much better races than this one.

Hobart - Race 6 3.35pm AEDT

No. 3 Mandela Effect

Mandela Effect is an ultra-consistent horse that has recorded five wins from his 11 race starts. He won first-up at Launceston last campaign and he was not disgraced when he was sent to Flemington for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. He has a genuine class edge over the rest of this field and he can make a winning return to the races.

Hobart - Race 7 4:20pm AEDT

No. 2 Shady Hustle

This is an interesting edition of the Strutt Stakes. Our Long Sali is a deserving favourite, but it is Shady Hustle that appeals at the current price. She has recorded three wins from her four race starts and she showed a nice turn-of-foot to win the 1000 Guineas last start. She is consistently underrated and I think she can record an upset again.

Hobart - Race 8 5.00pm AEDT

No. 4 Lamborghini

This is an interesting edition of the Hobart Cup and it is Lamborghini that is the horse to beat. He has recorded three wins from his past four starts and he produced the best effort of his career to win at Caulfield last weekend. He is a very fit horse and I don’t think that the step-up to 2400 metres will be an issue.
