It has been a long time between race starts for She’s So High, but she is still clearly the horse to beat in the Bob Hoysted Handicap. She is a mare that is capable of producing a very high-rating performance on her day and she is unbeaten in her two first-up starts. She has more upside than the rest of this field and can make a winning return to the races.
It is no surprise that Ringerdingding has been the best-backed runner in early Australian Guineas betting. He ran the fastest closing sectionals when he took on the older horses in the Futurity Stakes last weekend and the step-up to 1600 metres is ideal. The wide barrier draw means that he will get clear running and he will be storming home in the concluding stages of the race.
This is an excellent edition of the Skyline Stakes and it is Microphone that is the horse to beat. He has recorded two wins from his past three starts and he could hardly have been more impressive when he recorded a dominant win down the straight in the Talindert Stakes. I think he can stamp himself as a genuine Golden Slipper contender with a Skyline Stakes win.
There has been a big early move for Pohutukawa in the Surround Stakes betting market and she does look like the horse to beat. Her closing sectionals could hardly have been more impressive in the Light Fingers Stakes and the step-up in trip is ideal for her. She can settle closer to the speed from barrier seven and will prove very tough to run down late.
