2019 George Ryder Stakes Preview

It is all about Winx in the 2019 George Ryder Stakes.

Winx goes into the George Ryder Stakes at her usual odds of around the $1.10 mark and, as always, it is extremely tough to see her getting beaten.

Can Winx possibly be beaten?

We have analysed all nine runners and our complete 2019 George Ryder Stakes tips can be found below!

Land Of Plenty

Land Of Plenty has been racing well without winning this campaign and he was definitely unlucky not to earn a wildcard into the All-Star Mile. He found the line nicely in both the Ladbrokes C.F. Orr Stakes and the Futurity Stakes and the step-up in trip will suit. He doesn’t have the ability to beat Winx, but he is the horse to beat for second.

Dreamforce

Dreamforce was scratched from the Ajax Stakes last week and will instead take his position in the George Ryder Stakes. His win in the Liverpool City Cup was solid, but I don’t think that he is up to this level.

So Si Bon

Twitter will explode if So Si Bon is able to beat Winx in the George Ryder Stakes. It would not surprise two see him finish in the placings and he has been racing soundly, but he is always tough to trust from a betting perspective – even in a race that doesn’t have Winx.

Winx

What more can you say about the great mare Winx? Happy Clapper gave her a genuine race in the Chipping Norton Stakes, but she still ran him down comfortably and I don’t think that there is a horse of that quality in this field. The wet track is definitely not a problem for her, she is normally at her best with the sting out of the ground, and she has won the past two editions of this race with no issues. It is impossible to bet against her.

Prompt Response

Prompt Response returned to the races with an excellent third behind Trapeze Artist and Shoals in the Canterbury Stakes. She obviously doesn’t have the upside to beat Winx, but she is a mare that is heading in the right direction and she will go into the Queen Of The Turf Stakes as one of the horses to beat.

Egg Tart

Egg Tart has been included in the acceptances for both the George Ryder Stakes and the Ranvet Stakes. There is no doubt that she will be better suited in the Ranvet Stakes, but the sting out of the track will help her in whichever race she contests.

Teleplay

Teleplay has been racing well this campaign, but a clash against Winx in the George Ryder Stakes is a huge step-up in class.

Ringerdingding

It is interesting that Chris Waller has elected to run Ringerdingding in the George Ryder Stakes and this is set to be his key lead-up for the Doncaster Mile. He wasn’t disgraced behind the older horses in the Futurity Stakes and he found the line nicely against the pattern of the race in the Australian Guineas. I expect to see him race well again and I think that he will go into the Doncaster Mile as a genuine winning chance.

Brutal

It is tough to know what to make of Brutal. He was excellent during the Spring, he beat Mystic Journey, and his first-up run was excellent, but he produced a fairly flat effort in the Canterbury Stakes. It would not surprise to see him produce an improved effort, but this level looks beyond him at this stage of his career.
