Legendary Lands $50 into $10,995 – A Tiger Trifecta!

They say Tiger fans are a loud, passionate and loyal bunch, but what Tiger fans and which sport?

Well, for this Ladbrokes Punter that would be all of them!

When this punter decided to put a pineapple on a Wests Tigers win in the NRL, Richmond Tigers win in the AFL and Tiger Woods to win the Masters in a Tiger-themed multi, it was an ambitious play but it’s turned into a tidy $10k profit.

It’s fair to say this punter will be laughing and singing “Eye of the Tiger” and “Oh we’re from Tigerland” all the way to the bank.

LEG 1:
Wests Tigers 22 def. Brisbane Broncos 16

At the beginning of the weekend, the first leg of this multi would have been considered the safest bet.

With the likes of Luke Brooks and Josh Reynolds for the Wests Tigers inflicting more pain on the Brisbane Broncos steered their side to a 22-16 victory on Thursday night.

The scores were level 16-16 with 10 minutes left in the match but it was the Broncos botched set which allowed the Tigers to come home with the win.

The replacement  Michael Chee Kam was the hero scoring the winning try in the dying seconds to win the game for the Tigers and break Broncos fans hearts.

The combination of Brooks and Reynolds had been composed during the night and ensured that the Wests Tigers were able to orchestrate the killer blow in the match, getting Wests Tigers the win and the first leg of the Tiger multi-up.

Chee Kam – Chee-Ching for this punter who backed Wests Tigers.

LEG 2:
Richmond 15-9 (99) def. Port Adelaide 14-8 (92)

No Rance.
No Riewoldt.
No Cotch.
No Dusty.
No worries.

There were plenty in knee-jerk AFL media circles writing the Tigers off after Round 3 but not this Ladbrokes punter.

Richmond had arguably their best win since the 2017 Grand Final proving their depth and showing to the Football world they can get results without the big four or outside the MCG.

High-prized Tiger recruit Tom Lynch booted six goals, Premiership player Brandon Ellis found some form with 28 disposals and the debutant Jack Ross had plenty of the footy with 25 touches.

It was also the efforts from Dylan Grimes down back with six vital marks in the last quarter that kept the Tigers in the game.

The game was a heart-stopper with four lead changes in the last quarter but the Tigers got home in a thriller and no doubt this Ladbrokes punter screamed “YELLOW AND BLACK” at the top of his lungs after the final siren.

The second leg of the multi is up, now is the time for Tiger Woods to become the “Tiger of Old” and get the job done in Augusta.

3rd Leg – Tiger Woods to win the Masters

First impressions would have you think this was purely a sentimental bet – going for the Tiger trifecta but perhaps it was just genius foresight.

It had been a long time between green jackets for Tiger Woods and after a topsy-turvy decade with back problems and sex scandals, you’d think he’d put up a good fight but not go all the way.

But Tiger had other ideas.

Tiger Woods emerging triumphant at Augusta to win his fifth US Masters, his first victory in 10 years was one of the great triumphs in sport.

No doubt this Ladbrokes punter would have been up early this morning to see the roller-coaster final Round.

At one stage there were five co-leaders but Tiger held his nerve and got the job done through a final Round of 70 finishing 13 under, one clear of Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.

It was Tiger’s first victory in 14 years and the trifecta of Tigers made for a Tigeriffic Legendary Land getting up.
