World Is Yours has been racing well at Bunbury and Pinjarra and is ready for the step-up to this sort of company. There are no stars in this field and the step-up to 1800 metres does suit. He has an excellent opportunity to return to winning form and I believe that he should be a clear favourite in this contest.
It has been a while between race starts for Angry Annie, but she does have some talent. She made her racing debut with a smart win at Kalgoorlie and she was not disgraced at Northam in her second race start. I think that she has more upside than the majority of this field and she is well and truly over the odds at $10.
Electric Light has recorded eight wins from her 11 race starts and she returned to winning form with a smart performance in the Marjorie Charleson Classic. She still has the scope to improve on that performance and if she does do that, she will go to a level that is very tough to beat. I would much rather be on her at $4.50 than Lady Cosmology at $2.10.
Beethoven had excuses when he failed to fire in the Karrakatta Plate and his win before that in the Perth Stakes was excellent. I am confident that he is a much better horse than his last start effort suggests and I don’t think that the step-up to 1400 metres will be an issue. The favourite is a false favourite and I am happy to take him on.
