Awake The Stars found one better first up over the 1200m at Doomben however it was a very promising performance nonetheless. She has a difficult barrier to overcome but she drops 2 kg on that effort and can more than measure up in a field of this quality
This is a tough race full of talented young horses however Vega One may just be the best of them. all of his runs this prep have been superb but none were better than his dominant performance at Doomben. He has a tricky gate to overcome however he is a classy young, progressive horse who can win again.
Dr Drill has had two runs in Australia and they have both been full of merit. He will only improve the further he gets out in distance and I think he can win a race of this quality. He should be ready to peak third up and if he has a good run in transit he can show his sharp turn of foot late.
Haunted has been racing well in recent times but I still don’t think we’ve seen the best of him. His win at this distance at Caulfield was very good and he can continue to climb through the ranks with another win in this contest.
