2019 Kingston Town Classic Day Preview
Race 1 - 12:24pm
WA 2yo Trophy
Impact is the only winner in the field of nine juveniles and has been installed
as the odds on favourite to make it two wins on the trot. American Choice has
been to the races once for a third and will benefit from the experience. Choice
Bid finished just behind American Choice at his only start and the betting will
be the best guide for first starter More Snitzel.
Race 2 - 1:04pm
1MW Handicap (1100m)
chasing a hat trick after two wins at Ascot and will be hard to beat again.
This’ll Tesya looks to be way above average with a debut four and three quarter
lengths Maiden win at Bunbury and is stepping straight into Saturday class. Driftstar
is fitter for two runs back from a spell and City Circle is resuming and has
been placed first up in the past.

Sky is facing a huge drop in class after finishing eight in Listed company at
Ascot last start and looks better suited here. Jedaffair was a winner over this
course and distance three starts back and has been placed over 1800m at Ascot at
her next two starts and is likely to be in the mix again. Avidus is fitter for
one run back from a spell and Inflation has been thereabouts at his three runs

Race 4 - 2:24pm
RTG 72+ Handicap (1200m)
Knight has been a beaten favourite at his last two starts but William Pike has
stuck with him and he can be given one more chance. Carocapo is up 2.5kg for
his win over this course and distance in similar class and a repeat will see
him figure in the finish again. The Nicconian hasn’t been far off the money of
late and Mankind has handy recent form with a win and a second from his last
three starts at Ascot.

Race 5 - 3:00pm
Lee-Steere Classic (1400m)
Massimo is the winner of four of his six race starts and is looking to make it four wins on the trot as he steps up to the 1400m for the first time following his win in the Listed 1200m Placid Ark Stakes at Ascot a fortnight ago. War Saint scored a surprise win at big odds in the Group 2 WA Guineas over 1600m at Ascot on the same day and looks well placed here. Laverrod was runner up to Massimo in the Placid Ark Stakes and Sanabreanna has handy form against the fillies with a last start second to Tuscan Queen in the Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) at Ascot three weeks ago.

Jungle Dawn Classic (1400m)
Electric Light was turned on and found the winner’s stall last start over 1200m in Listed company at Ascot and will be hard to beat again. Beautiful Mind was runner up to Electric Light and meets her 1kg better at the weights. Snowchino was fifth in the same race and Perfect Jewel will find this a lot easier than her last start twelfth to Regal Power in the Group 1 Railway Stakes over 1600m at Ascot a fortnight ago.

Stageman is facing a huge drop in class after a luckless ninth to Hey Doc in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes at Ascot last Saturday and gets his chance here. Flirtini is also coming out the Winterbottom Stakes after finishing fifth and is one of the main chances. Valour Road was always well back when twelfth in the Group 1 sprint and Flow is fitter for recent racing.

Race 8 - 4:50pm
Kingston Town Classic (1800m)
Best Of Days tried hard when second to Regal Power in the Group 1 Railway Stakes over 1600m at Ascot last start and is certain to get a great run from an inside barrier. Regal Power has drawn wide again and will have to repeat his Railway Stakes winning performance to claim back to back Group 1 wins. Gatting was a Group 1 winner during the 2019 Melbourne Spring Carnival but failed to threaten in the Railway Stakes but will be better suited over the 1800m and the lightly raced Tuscan Queen has been installed the favourite for the Kingston Town Classic but is facing a huge class rise after beating the fillies in the Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes over 1600m at Ascot three weeks ago.
