Race 1 - 12:32pm

QTIS 2yo Handicap (1000m)

Rothfire is the winner of his only two starts before a break over this course and distance, including a six lengths win at his second race start. The Robert Heathcote trained Rothfire has won a recent Doomben barrier trial in preparation for his return to the racetrack and will get a nice run from an inside gate. Uncle Frank made it two wins from four starts with a last start win over the Eagle Farm 1000m course after drawing the rails but will find this a bit different from a double digit barrier but is sure to race well again. The Kris Lees trained Redoute’s Image was runner up at his only start on his home track at Newcastle and has won a recent Newcastle barrier trial and Mishani Miss has a win and a third from two runs this campaign over this course and distance.

BenchMark 90 Handicap (2200m)

Master Zephyr is ready to tackle the 2200m this week at his fourth run back and put the writing on the wall with a last start third over 1840m at Eagle Farm and is one of the main chances. Our Mantra is also stepping up to the 2200m after a fourth over the Eagle Farm 1840m and is a winner over this course and distance. The Chris Waller trained Raqeeq heads to Eagle Farm on the back of a win over 1900m at Canterbury and has the inform Matthew McGillivray in the saddle and Kuttamurra Al is up in class but down in weight on his last start win in a 2225m BenchMark 75 Handicap at Eagle Farm.

Race 3 - 1:42pm

0MW Handicap (1000m)

Mighty Mittere scored a first up win over 900m at the Gold Coast and will get all the favours from barrier two from the 1000m start. All Pluck is resuming and has been placed first up in the past and will get a nice run from a favourable draw. Let’s Cheer Again scored a hat trick of wins before his last start sixth and has to be given each way claims and Gypsy Toff will be fitter for one run back from a spell but has come up with a horror draw.

Race 4 - 2:17pm

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1000m)

Better Reflection found the winner’s stall again with a first up victory in a 1000m 3yo Handicap at the Metro meeting at the Sunshine Coast on January 25 and will be hard to beat again. Go Deep is a winner over this course and distance and is likely to be very competitive again. Wandabaa from the Kris Lees stable was narrowly beaten over this course and distance last start and has drawn in close again and Exondabeach gets her chance in the city after a debut win over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast.

Race 5 - 2:58pm

Open Handicap (1400m)

Impasse was back in the winner’s stall over this course and distance last start and is one of the main chances again. Fortensky and The Avenger are both from the Chris Waller stable and both are fitter for one run back from a spell and they should show plenty of improvement. Queen Of Kingston has been thereabouts of late with a third at Coffs Harbour and a fourth at Ballina before a last start third over 1400m at Eagle Farm and has a slight drop in weight going up in grade.

Race 6 - 3:38pm

BenchMark 80 Handicap (1800m)

Glen Ord strung two wins together at the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast before a last start sixth over 1840m at Eagle Farm from the outside gate and will get a better run this week from an inside draw. Missed The Alarm is a winner over this course and distance and will be better suited back up to the 1800m following her last start seventh over 1600m at Eagle Farm. Twilighter was a last start winner over 1840m at Eagle Farm but is up in class and has drawn awkwardly but can still be thereabouts and Roman Son will find this easier than his latest Sydney assignments.

Race 7 - 4:18pm

F&M Class 3 Plate (1200m)

The lightly raced filly Ingear has been placed at her last two starts with a second in a mid-week Doomben three year old Handicap following a third in a 1400m Eagle Farm Saturday three year old Handicap and will strip as one of the main chances again. Siesta Key has handy New South Wales Country and Provincial form with two seconds and a win from her last three starts and has claims here. Denman Unlimited ran a nice race last start when second over this course and distance and look for improvement from Lashoni after her first up fifth at Eagle Farm.

Race 8 - 5:00pm

C,G & E Class 3 Plate (1200m)

Heritage Sash hasn’t missed a place from eight starts with two wins and six placings and has won a recent Gold Coast barrier trial in preparation for his return to the racetrack. Navy will strip fitter for one run back after a long spell when third over 1110m at Doomben and look for improvement. Penasquito is resuming and has won first up in the past and two recent barrier trials at Doomben and Eagle Farm will help her chances and look for improvement from Royal Phoenix.

Race 9 - 5:40pm

Class 6 Plate (1400m)

Gresham was back in the winner’s stall in a 1600m Class 6 Plate at Eagle Farm last start and will be hard to beat again. Magnufighter ran a solid first up fourth over the Eagle Farm 1400m and will get another nice run from an inside gate. Red Chase is a winner over this course and distance but will need plenty of luck from an awkward draw and Femme Fireball has been racing consistently of late with two Eagle Farm placings from her two runs this time in.
