So if it’s AFL, NRL, Basketball, Cricket, Golf or even Wrestling, be sure to return each morning as we take a trip back through the history books to relive some of the great sporting moments On This Day.
2000 – Another Day, Another Record
Tiger Woods won his first US Open on this day 20-years ago, and while it remains a historic milestone in its own right, it’s the dominant fashion in which Tiger won that makes this perhaps his most memorable victory of all.
Woods won by 15 strokes ahead of Ernie Els and Miguel Angel Jimenez, setting a new major championship-winning record.
He would go on to win the US Open for a second time in 2002, and a third time in 2008.
Happy Birthday To…
Cam Smith and Billy Slater.
The two Melbourne Storm legends were both born on this day in 1983.
Other fun fact, this is also Latrell Mitchell’s birthday!
