2016 – Bolt Makes It A Double (For the third time)
Usain Bolt talked the talk and walked the walk, when he said he’d win his unprecidented third straight Olympic sprint double in Rio and did so with a dominant victory in the mens 200 meteres final.
Bolt became the only athlete to have won both the 100m and 200m twice back at the London 2012 games and did it for a staggering third time in Rio.
The crowd at the Olympic Stadium in Rio witnessed a masterclass from the Jamaican sprinter.
He started well with his expertise on the bend meaning he had bult a two-meter lead as they entered the home straight and maintained that advantage to the finish line.
Usain Bolt finished with a time of 19.78
Bolt didn’t break a World Record, but he did create even more history ensuring his place at the GOAT of the track.
Chants of “Usain Bolt! Usain Bolt!” ringed around the Olympic Stadium with Bolt proudly carrying his Jamaican Flag in a lap of honour.
1934 – Bradman & Ponsford Destroy England
England only needed a draw to retain the 1934 Ashes series but Bill Ponsford in his final Test made sure that wasn’t going to be the case.
Ponsford smashed a whopping 266 runs – a rare moment where Don Bradman was outscored, with the Don amassing a lazy 244.
Bradman and Ponsford combined for a total of 451 runs made in just five hours.
England would go on to lose the fifth Test by 562 runs.
