One Ladbrokes punter enjoyed a very successful weekend with this $50, 16-leg multi turning into a legendary land worth $17,125.50.
A mixture of football and NFL legs made up this multi, culminating in a very busy 10 hour stretch Monday morning.
To get to that point though, the first two legs needed to get over the line on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The Legendary Land started off in South America with the World Cup Qualifier between Brazil and Venezuela where the talent laden Brazilians needed a goal from Roberto Firmino to sneak home.
Early Sunday morning saw our punter backing Germany to make short work of the Ukraine in their Nations League contest, which the Germans did 3-1 after copping an early scare.
Upon the full time whistle of that match, our punter had to wait until the very early hours of Monday morning before the remaining legs would be decided across Europe and North America.
Leg number three would be a standalone with Northern Macedonia hosting Estonia in their Nations League C clash which ended 2-1 to the home side.
After another hour, three more legs kicked off with the multi including the Netherlands, Belarus and Albania to each pick up another three points.
Belarus had the longest price of any of the individual legs at $1.77 and they were not troubled by Lithuania, strolling to a 2-0 victory while the Dutch defeated Bosnia & Herzegovina 3-1 and Albania defeated Kazakhstan 3-1 in a very nice attacking display.
Halfway through those legs, the early window of the NFL morning kicked off with our punter particularly interested in a trio of those games.
They backed Tampa Bay to beat Carolina, who obliged with a comfortable 23 point win but had a few nervous moments in the other two games.
Green Bay went into the weekend as the biggest favourite of any NFL team but were pushed to the end by Jacksonville before scraping to a 24-20 victory while the weather stunted two talented offences in Cleveland.
The Browns just got by Houston 10-7 in a game that probably would not have been close had it have been played in a dome.
While those games were in the second half, the final five footballing legs kicked off in European prime time.
There was a tight finish in Austria who hosted Northern Ireland and for a while looked like it would cost our punter their payday, with the visitors taking a lead on 75 minutes.
A pair of goals in the 81st and 87th minutes gave Austria a huge comeback win and kept our punter’s play alive.
The Czech Republic won a tense encounter over Israel, scoring the game’s only goal in the seventh minute before holding out for the win.
Greece managed to score two goals in nine minutes just before halftime to get by Moldova and Italy defeated Poland by a score of 2-0 as well.
Easily the most dramatic finish in this Legendary Land was in Copenhagen where the next leg was on Denmark to defeat Iceland.
As expected, it was a tense match with Denmark taking a lead after 12 minutes through a Christian Eriksen penalty.
Iceland looked like they were about to break our punter’s heart, scoring an 85th minute equaliser before Denmark was sent to the penalty spot in the 91st minute.
With nerves of steel, Christian Eriksen stepped up and converted to send our punter into raptures (we assume) as the multi now only had two legs to go.
It was back to the NFL for those games as our punter backed the New Orleans Saints to dismiss the injury ravaged San Francisco 49ers and the Las Vegas Raiders to defeat the Denver Broncos.
Thankfully for our punter, both of those games were fairly straightforward results with the Raiders running home in the second half 37-12 and the Saints overcame an injury to quarterback Drew Brees to get by the 49ers 27-13.
That capped a memorable morning for our punter with 14 of the 16 legs for this payout resulting in a 10 hour stretch.
