Menangle - Race 2 5:54pm AEDT
No. 5 Wasa Heat Seeker
In arguably the strongest edition of the weekly up to 95 rating restricted race Menangle has ever witnessed, David Aikens speed machine comes out on top.
This former sandgroper has been a complete and utter revelation since relocating to the eastern seaboard, stringing together a series of wins over the short course at both Albion Park and Menangle. All these wins have come in astonishing times and have only been brought to an end by coming up against some of the most auspicious opposition NSW has to offer.
Suited by the drop back to this grade, this son of Sweet Lou is the beneficiary of a driver change to young superstar Jett Turnbull this evening which should see this gelding do what many horses can under Jett, simply sustain speed longer than they do for anyone else. Mapped to lead, this horse is a resounding wagering prospect.
He is our Best of The Day.
Menangle - Race 5 7:48pm AEDT
No. 4 Kingmaker
A horse that can be described in no way other than ‘flying under the radar’ this Luke McCarthy trained and driven gelding gets a chance to impress tonight.
A son of Mach Three, this nineteen time race winner has savaged the line at his last two starts in Free-For-All company at Menangle, both from impossible positions. Returning to a more suitable barrier here, this gelding should be able to hold a handy position in running.
An open race, last start winner Whereyabinboppin and promising racehorse Im The Falcon appear to be the two most logical dangers, but Kingmaker has the services of ‘Cool Hand Luke McCarthy’ which is enough on its own to bolster this horses chances from an each-way perspective.
Menangle - Race 6 8:17pm AEDT
No. 10 Always Hot
Voted by many judges in Australia as perhaps the most promising horse in the land, this undefeated Emma Stewart trained entire looks set to continue with his perfect record here this evening.
A stunningly bred son of Always B Miki, this colt has shown a true will to win throughout his short career, going five from five against the best his age group has to offer in Victoria. This colt had his first-up run at Melton two weeks, breezing throughout to bury his opposition late in a breathtaking 1:50.9 mile rate, seemingly doing it without ever being asked for a real effort.
With regular driver Greg ‘The Candyman’ Sugars steering this evening, this colt does face a fantastic line up of up-and-coming talent in tonight’s feature event, but this colt is blessed with great speed at both ends of his races meaning he should be able to find the top and from there will take a power of beating.
Menangle - Race 7 8:44pm AEDT
No. 1 Kosimo
A well-travelled eight-year-old gelding, this horse makes his first racetrack appearance for leading young trainer Seaton Grima this evening in a winnable event.
This son of Major Bronski is blessed with an electrifying change up of speed, evidenced best by his trial win at Menangle between runs, coming from a midfield position to draw away in a 25.9 last quarter. This change of speed has held this horse in good stead throughout his career and was the reason for his last win in July of 2024.
With enough gate speed to either hold a position two or three fence, this gelding gets the services of his driving trainer tonight and should put in a most competitive run.
