Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday 18th February

Newcastle - Race 3 2:40pm AEDT
No. 5 Divine Vicky

The first of our Daily racing tips for Tuesday have Divine Vicky who gets out to her preferred trip third-up for Matthew Smith on top in the third at Newcastle.

The daughter of So You Think has raced well without winning so far this prep, last seen running on late for fourth at Warwick Farm after taking full advantage of a late split approaching the 200m mark.

She’s yet to miss a drum over the 1200m trip from four attempts and gets in nicely at the weights here at Newcastle thanks to the claim.

Newcastle - Race 4 3:20pm AEDT
No. 4 Don’tcha Think

Don’tcha Think continues to flirt with a win.

Mark Milton’s gelding has been up for a while, but continues to hold his form nicely with three placings from his last five attempts.

By So You Think, he’s had little luck at the barriers in his last few races, but with Keagan Latham retaining the ride here, he should appreciate the extra rise in distance here with the winkers applied for the first time.

Newcastle - Race 5 3:55pm AEDT
No. 3 Zounaka

Tough to disagree with the market here when it comes to Zounaka.

This lightly-raced filly by Zousain has a clear fitness edge over most of her rivals, winning her maiden by well clear of a length when resuming at Kembla Grange early in January.

She’s since gone on to find the money in tougher races here at Newcastle and appeared to be crying out for 1400m in her latest effort when beaten narrowly.

Back on top of the ground now with a 3kg claim in effect, she’ll be one of the toughest to catch up on the speed.

Newcastle - Race 6 4:30pm AEDT
No. 7 Zousain Bolt
Each Way

Zousain Bolt looks ready to run a nice race fourth-up for Annabel Neasham and connections.

The three-year-old son of Zousain has mixed his form this time in work, his best effort coming two back here at Newcastle over 100m further where he led into the straight and just lacked the conditioning to go on with the job.

Racing over 1500m again at Kembla Grange a few weeks ago was clearly a step too far, so this step back in trip looks ideal with a dry track expected.

With some luck from out wide, a return to the money isn’t out of the question giving punters something to celebrate in our Newcastle daily racing tips!
