In what was a simply resounding return to racing by elite horseman Bruce Birch, this gelding marked himself as a trotter on the up.

A horse that has always showed solid ability but struggled to refine his gait in his races, this son of Yankee Spider was simply a revelation last start, demolishing similar opposition by over twenty metres in consummate ease.

With his trainer donning the silks again today, we must hope this six-year-olds standing start manners are up to scratch and if they are, he should go close to winning once more today.

Trainer-driver Brian Portelli has built an astute stable across the past few years and looks poised to add another winner to his season tally today.

A horse that has always shown good potential, this Art Major mare is starting to furnish into the finished product and has been racing better than her numerical form suggests. At her most recent outing, this mare was shuffled to three fence and held up for a portion of the straight, knuckling down well over the final 100m to run third.

Mapped to lead, this four-year-old has run a sizzling mile in her trials when leading here at Menangle and if she can replicate that today, she will be hard to beat.

Tip of the Day

A member of the Jarrod Alchin barn, this gelding is set to record his first NSW win today.

Having had only two starts for his new trainer, this former Victorian has raced exceptionally well in both of those runs. At his first start in NSW, this gelding was well supported in the market and stuck on well to run third in a 1:50 mile. He finished down the track at his next start, having a chequered passage in the process.

A strong horse with great early speed, we can expect leading driver Cameron Hart to send this Rock N Roll Heaven seven-year-old forward at the start and if he finds the top, he will be winning.

Quiet Storm is our Best of The Day.

A recent acquisition to the Seaton Grima yard, this gelding is set to win today.

This runner has only had one start this year, racing well to finish fourth at Newcastle when trained by Kerry-Ann Morris. This run came off the back of two solid trials and although nearly three weeks ago, this gelding will be fit enough to race well.

With Grima aboard, it is anticipated this Sweet Lou gelding will find the top in a race with limited early speed. From there, it will take a gargantuan effort to run him down.
