Augusta National is, quite simply, the greatest golf course in the world.
While it is tree-lined, accuracy from the tee is not critical but distance is certainly an advantage.
Augusta though, more than anything, is a second-shot course and a precise iron game is critical.
The only real path to victory in The Masters is finding greens – and preferably the right part of them – and getting up-and-down when missing.
The greens are so fast and difficult that putting is levelled out and has diminished importance.
To succeed one needs to score on Par 5s and avoid trouble on a course where trouble lurks everywhere.

JUSTIN THOMAS
We are starting to see the Justin Thomas of old and in his current form he looks a very good hope of claiming his third major and his first green jacket.
He did all but win the Valspar when he blew a three-shot lead with three to play but contention in recent tournaments is a key guide.
Thomas has now finished Top 10 in six of his last 10 tournaments and his profile is perfect for this weekend.
He leads the Tour in Putting Average while he ranks seventh in Par 4: Birdie or Better, 10th in Strokes Gained: Approach, 12th in Par 5 Scoring and 15th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green.
This is his 10th Masters and he has six Top 25 finishes.
Currently ranked 5th in the Data Golf rankings and the best usually win at Augusta.
BEST VALUE
JOAQUIN NIEMANN
Phil Mickelson recently declared Joaquin Niemann the best player in the world recently and he is not far off.
Niemann is flying with two LIV wins already.
He is up to No.8 on the Data Golf rankings and all he does is contend with three wins and three more Top 7s since November last year.
He has now played in five Masters and that is typically the experience you need, plus he has finished Top 22 in his last two.
On LIV he ranks second in Scrambling, third in GIR and Top 10 in Strokes Gained: Approach, Driving Distance, Bogey Avoidance and Par 4: Birdie or Better.
Tremendous bet.
PATRICK CANTLAY
Cantlay is chasing his first major but the one major that looks the most likely for Cantlay is The Masters.
He has finished Top 22 in four of his last six at Augusta with his putting typically letting him down, losing between -0.6 and -1.93 strokes on the green.
Cantlay is putting much better this year with positive true strokes gained on the green in four of his last six tournaments and has been uber-consistent.
He finished Top 25 in three of the four majors last year while he has been Top 25 in 11 of his last 13 tourneys.
Ranks third in GIR, fourth in Par 5 Scoring, seventh in Putting Average and ninth in Par 4: Birdie or Better.

SEPP STRAKA
Straka might be the most underrated player in the Masters market, his profile is tremendous.
Straka ranks second in GIR, third in Proximity, fourth in Strokes Gained: Approach, seventh in Par 5 Scoring, eighth in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, ninth in Bogey Avoidance and 14th in Par 4 Birdie or Better.
The Ryder Cupper is No.17 in the Data Golf rankings and won The American Express in February.
With three Masters under his belt including a T-16 last year, he is a very nice bet.
SEGIO GARCIA
Former winner Sergio Garcia is having a great season and a real renaissance in form and given his record at Augusta, he must be afforded a chance to contend.
Garcia won in 2017 but has made just one of six cuts since.
He is playing much better though with two wins in his last 12 tournaments.
Ranks Top 4 on LIV in Scrambling, Par 4 Birdie or Better, Strokes Gained: Putting, Par 5 Scoring and Bogey Avoidance.
TOP FORMER CHAMPION
CHARL SCHWARTZEL
The 2011 champion is massive odds for this category but is not hopeless.
He has finished Top 25 four times since his victory including a T-10 at the 2022 Masters.
Schwartzel is playing well on LIV with two Top 14 finishes in his last three.
TOP LEFTY
PHIL MICKELSON
Akshay Bhatia and Bob MacIntyre dominate the betting in this one but the value in the Top Lefty market is three-time former champion Phil Mickelson.
He finished T-2 in 2023 and with a third in Hong Kong, he is playing well enough to compete.

JOAQUIN NIEMANN TOP 20/TYRELL HATTON TOP 20/SEPP STRAKA TOP 20
Niemann and Straka are both amongst the selections while Tyrell Hatton is another consistent player who should be around the mark.
He has finished Top 20 in 12 of his last 13 tournaments and was T-9 at Augusta last year.
