We have a strong 10-race card out of Ellerslie this Saturday, with competitive fields across the program. A standard fair racing surface is expected, with all runners getting their chance (pace dependant).
Track: Soft5
Rail: Out 3m
Tips for each of the 10 races below:
Pieces Of Eight (#14) resumes following an excellent recent trial win. Expecting him to be ridden positively early from the wide draw and look to cross these. Could give a big sight if he can find the front.
14. Pieces Of Eight (9) 56.5kg4X
Earlicheer (#6), a 3yo son of Super Seth, makes his debut for the Marsh stable. His trials have been sharp in preparation for this. Despite a wide draw, he looks capable of running a bold race first-up.

Churmatt (#1) ran a strong race for 2nd last start on a Heavy10 in Listed company. His debut win prior was excellent, and he now finds a very winnable 3yo race here. With Opie Bosson taking the reins from a low draw, he should get every conceivable chance.
1. Churmatt (2) 57kg12
Drop Of Something (#1) was extremely brave here last start, going down a head after covering plenty of ground early. From the low draw, he maps to be on speed again but shouldn’t be doing anywhere near as much work early.
1. Drop Of Something (3) 61.5kg31212
Santa Catalina (#9) got back and made good late ground last start. She comes into this third-up with Craig Grylls taking over from a much better draw, which should allow her to settle in the first half. Expecting her to be in the thick of the finish.
9. Santa Catalina (2) 56kg04X37
Social Climber (#10) was doing her best work late here and posting the fastest closing sectionals of the race. She draws better this time and looks likely to race handier to the speed. She appeals as a strong each way chance.
10. Social Climber (4) 57.5kgX4267
Celestial Wonder (#6) resumes here after trialling superbly. The wide draw presents some difficulty, but Opie Bosson in the saddle can mitigate that to some degree. Expect her to be ridden positively and give a bold sight fresh.
6. Celestial Wonder (14) 57kgX281X
Lollapalooza (#1) was devastating late over 1200m here last start, winning at Gr.3 level. She posted the fastest closing 400m and 200m sectionals of the meeting in doing so too. The step to 1400m looks ideal, and she clearly shapes as the one they all have to beat.
1. Lollapalooza (10) 56.5kg38X21
Tardelli (#2) resumes as a 4yo entire following a sharp trial win earlier this month. With Captured By Love drawn underneath, he should get the perfect trail into the race. Shapes as the horse to beat with even luck in running.
2. Tardelli (7) 57.5kg1728X
Casemiro (#14) was a game 2nd last start, and his recent trial win here since was excellent. The wide draw isn’t a major concern with the long run into the first bend from this start point at Ellerslie. Happy to speculate on him each way at the price.
