The UFC stays in Las Vegas this weekend with a Welterweight Main Event at the Apex.
It should be a great appetizer for next week’s UFC 322 card which will see Aussie champion Jack Della take on Islam Makhachev in one of the biggest fights of the year!
This is a sneaky good card and we have offered our opinions and betting plays below.
Gabriel Bonfim is one of the most exciting welterweight’s on the UFC roster and at 28 years of age, he is hitting the prime of his career.
He comes into this main event with just one professional loss on his 19 fight resume and can make a statement with a big win over a veteran opponent.
Randy Brown made his UFC debut back in 2016 and has fought many of the best that the sport has to offer.
He comes into this fight, at 35 years of age, having won four of his last five fights including two KO wins.
His only other loss since 2020 was to the now champion Jack Della by submission in Perth in 2023.
This is an intriguing main event with all possibilities available to each fighter but I’m predicting the judges will be needed to decide a winner.
Matt Schnell has a decade long career in the UFC now having won a contract through The Ultimate Fighter Tournament of Champions in 2016.
He fought three times in as many months to get his chance in the biggest promotion in the sport and he’s made the most of every opportunity he has been afforded.
It was a slow start initially, but he did win five of six during the middle part of his UFC career to elevate him to the rankings.
His record of late doesn’t make for good reading with just two wins from his last seven given how he is an experienced campaigner.
Joseph Morales came into his first UFC contract with a perfect record of 8-0 and won on debut via submission back in 2017.
Unfortunately he lost two in a row which included a tight split decision loss and was forced to find another way into the UFC.
He’s now won his last four in a row including TUF 33 flyweight tournament and he will be hungry to make the most of this second chance.
Muslim Salikhov is as accomplished a mixed martial artist as you will find on the planet in terms of experience at least.
The 41 year old Russian has almost 200 kickboxing fights on his record as well as 27 professional MMA fights.
He made his UFC debut in 2017 and has won 10 of his 13 fights in the promotion and coming into this fight he has back to back first round KO wins proving he is not done just yet.
He faces 32 year old Serbian Uros Medic who won a UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020 three losses, all via finish, from eight fights in the UFC.
In fact, all eight of his UFC fights have left the judges out of the equation and I’m predicting this will be the case yet again.
But not in his favour.
