No. 8 Autumn Lover

AUTUMN LOVER returns to action at Ladbrokes Geelong this afternoon.

The filly showed ability during her debut preparation, finishing a credible fifth in Listed company at her first start before a couple of near misses in metro company.

She’s trialled up nicely and on exposed form, looks well placed to win this afternoon.

Ladbrokes Geelong: Race 6
No. 2 Ominic

OMINIC chases a hat-trick at Ladbrokes Geelong this afternoon.

The Proisir gelding took a few runs to get going this time in, but after returning to winning form over a mile at Cranbourne two back, he franked that effort when striking again at Bendigo last time out.

In peak order, drawn well and under in-form apprentice Jabez Johnstone who also claims a couple, the horse gets plenty of ticks again.

Chasing a hat-trick. Last start favourite; raced right near the speed and boxed on; won by a head at Bendigo 0 – 66 July 5 over 1500m on a heavy track defeating Ataegina carrying 55kg at $2.50. The run before that favourite; tracked the speed and boxed on steadily; won by a long-neck at Cranbourne Bm62 June 21 over 1600m in soft going defeating Imponderable with 55kg at $3.20. Flying, no reason he can’t win again.

Ladbrokes Geelong: Race 7
No. 12 Chateau Vega
Each Way

CHATEAU VEGA rates as a key chance today at nice odds ($10 at publish).

While yet to record an elusive victory this time in, Chateau Vega has continually improved with each start and was last seen only just missing in BM56 company at Bairnsdale.

In peak order this afternoon and down in the weights, she should get her chance, and we can have something on each way at the quote.

Ladbrokes Geelong: Race 8
No. 7 I Said So

I SAID SO is second up and primed to strike.

The I Am Immortal gelding has only won one of nine starts since debuting, but he’s been a model of consistency in placing a further four times and finding form around some talented opposition.

Having finished second, albeit well beaten by an impressive Electric Elvis when resuming earlier this month, he strips fitter and can continue his journey through the grades.
